FPS Problem

This is not for me, it's for CasperTM. He has FPS problem.. he gets only 30 FPS with quite a good PC. Here are his specs:

i5 3,2 Ghz
4Gb Ram
HD Radeon 5570 512 Mb

His Resorce Usage is 629/2028, he told me that he use Visual IV but it doesn't help. Also, I told him to shut down Shadows, to turn off VSync.. to turn off Windows Event Log also.. nothing helps. He still got 30 FPS. I don't know whats wrong

Edit: And yes, his ping is around 40.. quite low for this server xD

He should be grateful to his PC actually. Only 512mb of VRAM doesn't do a lot ^^

but shouldnt he got a little bit more fps on lower settings? Than the Resource usage is small so it should be more fps.. no? :s

What does that resource usage stand for? It can't be graphics memory as you said it has 512mb

It should be graphics memory but I don't know, he told me that after instaling Visual it got higher :s

Maybe he needs to lower it, to around 500 or lower to be in limits of his gpu or smth like that? :o

if its a laptop reducing the lag will be hard i had a Extreme Laptop lagged hard anyhow so sold it and bought a new Pc just for IV playing

I've asked him for that, does he have a laptop.. he has PC. I told him to lower his graphics to the minimum and try it, but he didn't answer after that xD

This is the problem, he has a commandline somewhere which is tricking his game to think he has a 2028Mb GPU, which he does not.

His actual usage is 629/512 which is obviously overworking that card. Not to mention this game is really CPU intensive and is even made for use with a quad core, the i5 isnt helping.

Be happy with 30fps its fine.

I thought about it but every time I told him to try to lower the graphics ( He's playing on high ) he don't answer :O

He knows where's this topic, he can see for himself what's the problem. Thank you guys for your help, the rest is up to him ^^

Yeah my commandline thinks my GPU is waaay better than it actualy is, the only thing I can say is that i have a crap PC but I manage to squeeze out 40 fps in teh airport :P
Only suggestion, make resource usage below 460, because if he goes higher he`ll probablly keep on lagging, I suggest lowering the water quality, shadows and reflection resolution to low, That`s the most resource usage lowering stuff.
