Sorry but they are horrid looking. Only true non-professionals would use such a site for a "professional" logo and that is coming from a professional in a strongly related field.

If he wants to offer free sigs to help build his skills then let him and don't criticize it. We are an open community with people of many professional and talent fields, we should not restrict their ability to help others and give back to the community.
