It would be great if there could be a script to tell people what events are coming.
something like.
!events
>>pm from admin: following events upcoming: Derby @ 18.30 today; hotring @ 18.00 22.11
and
!nextevent
>>pm from admin: next event: Derby@ stadium @ 18.30 server time today, signup at (topic link) or talk to (hostname).
Make it also possible for admins to call and cancel events.

There are no events cause people don't bother to attend, mostly cause guys from forum aren't online when it happends, but if outsiders get to know the event, they will attend.

its a good idea although it would mean modifying the script every time an event comes up.

Yeh I really like this idea too.

Not if commands were added to set the event data.

should usual players be allowed to set a event, or only developers can set the content of !events or !nextevent commands

Most likely that command should be for admins only so we don't get any "Sex at Monday" etc spam events.

Yes, I agree with you, PMP, an idea is really great! :) also the same idea to add events to calendar I posted on forums once ;)
I think that cmd is a hard work to add it into scripts, coz everytime the scripts should be renewed when some new event added...

Its probably best to stay with commands atm.
If alot of events take place and alot of players show up, then we can consider it.

go look at the MTA ideas, this was more for MTA, but, I guess you haven't read this same topic there.
This script would allow us to have players from outside the forum knowing and entering events that currently are for forum users only.
