A number of posts have been removed from this thread for being unnecessarily argumentative. The argument was based around the fact that Tom4ever believed part of the contents of this thread had been taken from a post he personally had made.
The contents that were alleged to have been stolen are a list of vehicle speeds; this is basic information about the game that any player could obtain on his own and it is therefore not possible to copyright such information, see:
I am posting this as a clarification since I am a Supervisor at Economical Courts.
Tom, your patent does not cover the information. Rather it covers the layout of the topic and logo.
Nobody can use the term ACA or create a topic with your logo or name.
The speeds mentioned in your topic are the 'content' of the topic. Which you did not request to be patented. Even if you did, they would not be approved as its something generic, and anybody is free to post vehicle speeds on their own topic. Someone can easily find them themselves, or perhaps ask lots of people and compile their own lists.
If Alex is listing speeds from your topic, that is not copyright infringement. Although it may be frowned upon as Tom did work hard for the list, it will not be a valid case of copyright infringement.
James.
AlexBrooks is free to use this information in any way he sees fit but the right thing would be to credit Tom4ever for his effort.
Tom4ever has no claim to this information but he should be pleased it is appreciated enough to be used by others in this way.
If there is any more discussion on this subject, including replies to this post, the posts will be removed and the poster will receive forum moderation.
