Pro's:
1. Faster than Windows by a long shot (Uses less resources)
2. Next to 0 Viruses and malwares
3. Supports legacy hardware
4. Many different features and flavors to choose from
5. More customizable

Con's
1. Does not support windows apps out of the box
2. Less support for modern hardware (Talking about you Nvidia)
3. Can fuck up systems if you don't know how to use Sudo commands
4. People will call you a nerd
5. Often comes with ugly gui's (Yes Lubuntu im talking about you)

lets see what you think

Pros:
1. Most Linux Distro's are free.
2. Generally more stable than either Windows or Mac O/S (Apple fanbois plz dun hurt me.)

Cons:
1. Most commercial support packages are aimed at enterprise solutions, not home users.
2. Initial setup can be lengthy and tedious if you're not familiar with the specific Distro.

No problem since you will just use windows if you need to run that software.

3. Can f**k up systems if you don't know how to use Sudo commands

Pros:
1. Live CD environment allows for great troubleshooting solutions,
2. Customizable to the core, just about anything can be configured as you want it to be.
3. As time passes; reaches the same list of applications you can use on windows(or games @ steam)
4. Free, unless you use RHEL(recommendation, Fedora is the free version of it)
5. Pretty serious(Killing an app seriously KILLS it, removing a file with the "sudo" flag literally does)

Cons, of course:
1. Handle with care, especially if you play around with su(do)
2. Drivers, they're pretty scarce.
3. Not all of your games/applications have a linux version(Don't bother with WINE unless you're persistent enough)
4. While very customizable it leads to wasted time/potential fixing stuff when it breaks,
5. Barely anyone understands WTF you're doing.

Despite that I still have an 80GB IDE drive running Fedora 19. and a Raspberry Pi for fooling around(Currently trying to set it up as PPTP VPN for bypassing the proxy @ my office)

Meh, uttering the words "Security" and "Windows" in the same sentence have become somewhat of a social taboo it seems.

I had to give a demo once to a class when they had to install ubuntu.

ended the presentation with "sudo rm -rf /*" to show how serious the sudo command could be without realizing that I did press ENTER

good thing that it was in VMware.

Security: most botnets use badly configured linux servers.  :cop:
Resources: remove the GUI from windows and it uses less, besides that what are you going to use the resources you free up for ?

Do not roleplay a veteran on discord, be a veteran in game.
