Hello argonthians
So when I lunch Gta iv ONLY then start playing some minutes, the laptop stops working so I force shut down it.
This started happening to me few weeks ago if I open and use so many programmes but no idea why.

Also in those few days when I open my laptop it says that it need recommonded hard drive check and I have ten seconds to type anything to cancel the check and removal od somethings. So here I am asking help.

P.s You will notice some wronf words because I am sleepy.

CPU: INTEL CORE i7
RAM: 8GB
HARD DRIVE: 1TR

Not sure what the Exact problem is but do the Hard Drive check when it appears. I had the same problem with my Laptop, To be honest(Speaking from personal experience) please dont use a Laptop for Gaming, you can play gta sa but i dont think GTA IV is suitable for laptops; Also try updating your graphics drivers(not sure if this is the problem) because sometimes when your graphics driver crash it makes your laptop hang, and also from my knowledge of processors, Intel CORE i7 is never supposed to hang or force you to you force quit your PC/Laptop, i7 has extra buses which carry data when your normal buses dont have enough space to run programs, this means that you probably have unnecessary programs running somewhere in your Laptop

Same us my IRL friends said but about this unnecessary programs I got told to force stop somethings via (in french) gestion de tâches. Also I don't have space to get a big computer so I am forced to use laptop.  I got told also to formate the lap since I have windows 7 home editions and then replace it with the professional one.
Still need more ideas/solutions.

Hmm, as stated, dont use Laptop for GTA IV, and ye re-installing windows might help, and try installing the same version as it now, if you have Home premium, install Home premium.

But it already got formated.  I don't think it's window's fault since everything is new in the laptop. And as I said i am forced to use a it (laptop). Those things weren't in it.

Does your laptop overheat?,  thats the only problem coming in my mind, try not to get you laptop heated up.

And wait, do you only have to force shutdown when you're playin IV. If yes, then theres something wrong with the game, I think it takes to much of your memory. Does your laptop have specs which can handle IV?

What is your current operating system? Windows 7 home basic or home premium? And is it 32bit or 64bit?

And one more thing, if you have any type of mod just try to remove that, which you think are really high, besides your "PC's Configuration".
Then try the game, and post the summary over here.

I will check them but it doesn't happen for only GTA IV it does when I run about 10 applications (chrome TS skype samp Bandycam ect...)

I think, as you are syaing that the windows is not able to pick more then 10 application at one time, you might be having some problem with your HARDDRIVE/HARDDISK.

Just do one thing, try to update your drivers including Chipset, GPU.

I will check it but I already changed the harddrive 3 months ago and it's working perfectly.

As KelviNC said, update your drivers. Run Windows Update too. You already stated that you formatted and started off fresh, so you need to re-add all of the updates you are missing, including to your drivers and OS themselves. Windows 7 also had a number of compatibility updates that were released for various games, both old and new. I would also recommend checking to make sure you have the latest patch for GTA IV installed.

If none of that works, do as Axison said, and monitor the heat of the computer while playing the game. I'm sure the system heats up a bit when opening it, (as all systems tend to), but how hot it is getting will define whether that is the issue or not. Remember, laptops have all of their parts confined together in a very tiny space. Heat cannot escape well from inside of a laptop, and it tends to build up and get even hotter. With this in mind, your system may just be getting so hot that it locks up, being unable to process anything because it has been slowed down so much by the heat.

Also, what other system specs do you have? So far you haven't told us very much about your system, so we cannot give you anything much more specific to your issue without it. It may just be that your system is not built to handle GTA IV, and it is freezing because it cannot keep up with processing everything at once.
