Input is not from my mic

Okay for a few days until now I thought that I had broken my mic again.

I thought of testing my input (using skype's call testing service) and then I realised that input is from my PC itself and not the mic (like if I am playing a song, it records the song instead of what i am saying from my mic)

How do I fix this?

Have you tried setting your recording device as your microphone instead of the computers audio output?
