So in the past few months there have been about ten topics about this, I can't believe I'm making one, but this has to be stopped by someone, and as nobody gave a biased opinion I shall do so.
RS 4.1 was a community based script as the ideas for the script came strictly from the RS4 suggestion topic, we were listened to by the team, our voices were heard, I remember a man that went by the name of David_Omid, that guy was basically a legend, he looked through all of our stupid and useless but yet some times brilliant suggestions and told us if it will be implemented or not, the players knew how RS4 would be like, come RS5 closed beta test 3 years later and we know nothing. Why must it be so? It all worked so good, we the community knew what was going through the scripters heads at the time, here we are after hundreds of suggestion topics and I'm still searching for one that was implemented. RS5 was a secretly developed script for no reason at all as we the players could of gave you directions at the beginning, overwriting the script now just makes no sense.
Now let's go to the RS5 problems, if you think the bugs are the problem.. just no. What's the problem is where our freedom has been forgotten, when I first joined the server I understood it, I was 11 when I joined, I didn't even understand basic English but yet I knew how to play the damn game, it was simple, it took the GTA SA Single player and made a multiplayer out of it, a place where people would role play but also would have fun as the scripts let them do that, if it was ignoring some people because you wanted to avoid conflict with them to public chat where you can express your own opinion, it was a true light RP server with much to support it. Though RS4 changed a few things but the base was still there, yet the role play ceased to exist but you still found people that role played, it was a simple decision of what kind of friends you are trying to make. There were no scripts that would force us to role play, there was freedom of role playing, to express our imagination in a way that wasn't possible on other servers.
Yet here we are, 4 years later where we are grown up, some of us grew up playing on this server, if I look at it this way, the first time I joined the server would be 5 years ago which means a third of my life, here is where I studied and practiced my English, back then I had imagination, I could see that invisible wrench you're holding, I could see the imaginary chainsaws, but now here we are where the imagination is becoming smaller, where the developers themselves need to make scripts that boost our imagination and role playing. Yet it might seem sad, or it is just necessary, I mean looking at it from an outside perspective it makes total sense to close PnS shops and force people to go on mechanic duty on which they can role play but don't need to. And to make people spawn somewhere in Narnia, just to experience it, and role play there, make taxi jobs more useful, yes looking like that from outside is amazing. But people need to understand that only a portion of people come on SAMP to role play, people are here to have fun, to meet people, to fly around with Brajun and Ethan, we never had problem making friends even if we weren't forced to role play with each other, that is because we are on one server, we are a community, the people within it know each other, even though just barely if they met once, or saw each others post on the forum, they see one another, and if they like the other person they will role play, random encounters with people always start with role play, even if you don't make it a server rule to role play, even Sandi can tell you he never greeted a person with a weapon.
Devin told Ethan if he wants to fly around, why not join a stunt server, yes indeed that is a good point, why would you want to fly on a server where people would look in the sky and see your skill and want to fly in your plane and scream how much fun it is in the public chat. Yet your point states that this is a role play server where people shouldn't do stunts, but here I can see that people have been doing this since early 2008 and nobody ever had a problem with it, why can't we express ourselves on one server, why not unite people, why do you want to make them join other servers, why not script around the community instead of the server, if the community is the one who enjoys and plays your server day to day for the past years.
But here we are again as this script is made for the purpose of this community Argonath, Role-play gaming, it makes sense, as saddening as it is, this server more than 90% supports the Argo vision, yet if we don't like it as the leaders have said the doors are open, and people are migration towards other servers, yet some to other communities, which I beg you not to, nothing can beat Argonath.. but the script makes sense, it enforces role play but yet doesn't force it, it gives us freedom, yet not as much freedom as we used to have, but yet we have freedom, it gives us a Cops & Robbers element with the whole pick-pocketing, it gives us freedom but also gives us the tools to role play, which depending on your imagination is what some needed.
As far as it goes for role playing here nobody can say it's impossible as the biggest complain in RS4 was that nobody role plays, now here everyone cries how the scripters made it so you
need to role play things, some times I want people to make up their mind but yet I'm here not knowing if support one or the other side. In RS3-4 people role played but than Argonath became mainstream and a lot of people joined who made families and groups who accepted everyone, not speaking about anyone in particular, at first this was frowned upon, hated, everyone wanted people like that to stop playing but nowadays everything is just meh, JDC always had the idea to RP everything and I have to yet see him complain about anything, because this is a perfect role play script, the first time I joined the server in beta I thought this was a joke, one of those free to download RP scripts but than I realized.. this is a RP script, this isn't meant for the argo freedom, that is why we have multiple servers, so people would play them, yet people didn't want to beta test the server because nobody liked it and RS4 mysteriously died, so people were going to either play RS5 and beta test it or play Stunt, and you could see a gigantic growth on Stunt, why you ask? because Stunt gives freedom to players, it is the game mode where you don't even need money, you can have jets to fly around, you can interact with people, but yet now people don't play it, why? because they love that element of role play. As this server is a role play server it needs it, so people can't say it's a bad script because of it's features, it is meant to promote role play but not force it, it's that perfect combination where it serves you role play on the plate and you're either gonna grab it or leave it, as everything can be still done without role play, but why would you want to? That is why you play the server, to have the freedom to do or not to do.
RS5 is already out, so I don't know why people make topics about how RS4 was better, it isn't coming back, it will be missed and it will be graced as the last time we had freedom.. well that is until people accept RS5 and stop crying about RS4, I hope this is the last topic that will be made of this, and I will speak on the behalf of the community here even though nobody gave me the power to but I want to thank the developers for what they've done, even though it could of been done better, and you could've listened to the community and actually done the things we wanted, you did this for free, for us. But yet I hope we can make changes to the RS5 script, but the thing is the scriptures haven't been straight forward with us yet, nobody told us to shut the fuck up with these topics, so yes, speak up, you asked questions but never gave answers, is this how the community should talk? by creating useless topics? I know all you want from us is
this but for once just write your brains out, we're here to listen. We are a community and we should make it so everyone is happy.
