A lot of players in VC:MP drift from one server to another and often don't get much involved in the more specialist features that each community offers.

Argonath relies a lot on things around the server to make play happen, and the more people we have using these features, including the different forums, companies, organisations and government services, the more RP opportunities we have.

Some VC:MP servers do well in advertising their websites to get more people to stick with them.
We could have a message system that comes up every few hours (to make it not too spammy) or only at login which conveys important details, from events to useful info.
Could get much more publicity for player-organised activities and may actually be useful for newcomers., as they are unlikely to sit through /c commands <1-15> or /c rules /c smuggling etc. Scripters would no longer have to rely on forums to pass on script changes either.

Message when you log in is not a good idea, most people have the chat on 3 lines so sending shitloads of messages before/after logging in is a bad idea.

One message per hour poking people to the forums would be a good pick and only one that I would ever implement. We can always create the needed help topics (modify existing) to General section so one message covers it all
