Hello,

I have an issue with my PC. I will buy a new PSU anyway but this may be another issue.

When I shut down my computer, it turns back on automatically.

Chance that your PC may be turning on due to power in the actual system not being discharged, if you have a switch on at the back of your PC, switch it off and turn it back on, if you do not have a switch try the power switch at the panel or powerboard.

Not entirely sure this will help but my 2 cents I guess.

Go into BIOS and change your power settings to " Remain off after power failure" in the Power Management section.

Optionally, switch from S3 to S1 power mode in BIOS or reverse.

Other reported causes are malfunctioning USB devices, stuck power switches, shorts in the switch itself, faulty power supplies, or even Wake On LAN settings.

When did the issue first occur?

Not sure but I will have a go at the BIOS thing. Like I said, I will be buying a new PSU anyway its just a matter of is this a different issue or is it purely the PSU.

Sometimes the computer switched off but I hear the fans still running then a second or two later the computer boots up.

Sometimes the computer is completely off, then starts up again.

The booting up after being shut down is not due to the PSU but due to the system configuration, either Windows is set to wake on lan or BIOS settings are set to wake on lan.

I have disabled that though.

Oh! thought that it happens only to me, I'd like to advice you to re-install your PC window and after that, it will be fix.

There's no need to reinstall Windows when simple configuration and research can solve the simple issue 9/10 times.

Try going in the BIOS and  find "Remain off after power failure",  try disabling that if you have it.

It doesn't quite sound like it but just in case your computer could be blue screening on shutdown and restarting due to it being set to automatically do so on a blue screen.

But with you being sure the computer does occasionally turn off completely it could be what Nexus suggested or some sort of power surge.

You could try taking off the front cover of the PC and check the power off button contacts, perhaps they're constantly sending electrical signals?

If that were the case, then the system would either be turning off when on, or constantly resetting itself.

Problem could be your 24/20-pin cable being a faulty one. One of the pins in the cable which function is to power on the system could either be a defect one or is being jammed/interfered with some other metal object/material. Check if something is interfering with the cable before you actually replace it. Clean the pins carefully if they have dust in it, use canned air or something similair.
