Wasnt opera supposed ro be pretty light?
It was until they just dumped all of their work and started shipping rebranded Chrome.

Also try Netscape (simple but fast) and Safari for Windows (originally made from Apple).
Those two are terribly outdated.

I know the reaction but IE 11. It's light on the RAM. You can try it.

LOL. IE 11 is honestly really good... for downloading real browsers. Don't use it.

Chrome is a lightweight platform browser as you can modify what is running on it. If you can't handle Chrome then you might wanna buy a new PC. I have a 1GB RAM laptop that I sometimes use than handles 30+ tabs at a time, I rarely have less than 20 tabs on any other device. Its robust and is pretty well at managing what tabs it needs loaded and which it can throw into the background.

I have a resentment for chrome, it for some reason eats up ram, from 2gb to 3gb on my device, I have 8gb of ram, so there is no real lag, but it's just.. annoying how something useless eats up that much ram, so I use either IE or Opera, and holy crap Opera is like being overweight and suddenly losing 30kg, opera blows every browser out the water, it's so darn fast! And I agree IMO IE gets so much hate because it's a meme to hate it, it's a great browser, it doesn't eat a lot of ram, it has a silly UI but I'm used to it, I've used IE for ughh... 10 years now? I'm just used to it.

Guys I can easily run chrome alone ... That's what Im doing atm too... And yeah I'm also one of the guys with several tabs open at ones, the thing is that I want a very light one(literally don't care about speed now that I think about it). Just to put a radio station playing there while I am playing games... Yeah a solution would be downloading songs... but I like too damn many of them... Opera is lighter and slower than chrome, any other suggestions? I care mainly about it being as light as possible...

I don't think you are understanding the problem here.

Based on what you are saying right now the issue has nothing to do with the browser but rather your internet. It really doesn't matter what browser you use; streamed content is still going to be the same size thus what browser you use to play it won't make a difference.

Assuming the problem is you notice lag spikes or increased ping the cause is your internet can't support the bandwidth usage; as in to many high-resource connections running at the same time.

If the problem is FPS based lag then the cause is likely caused by your PC not being able to handle the connections rather the net. Streaming media, even in browsers, will consume more resources; take a look at task manager for the browser.

To reitterate: no matter which browser you use the problem will remain.

Hope I was clear enough; tried to not get to technical.

My ping usually goes from like 100 to 120 which is not a problem as I have a 30mbps internet so I have no lag spikes. The problem is in my pc which sometimes gives me lower FPS while both playing and listening to a radio station. I guess as you said changing the browser won't make a difference? Note out that it is not permanent, it just temporary affects my game randomly ....

What version of Windows are you using, assuming you are using windows? How much RAM and what is the speed of the CPU?

I'm Running on Windows 7 Ultimate (therefor I think that IE11 is not a good idea right?)
With 4GB Ram
And this is my processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     E7400  @ 2.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz

IE11 is never a good idea.

Do you keep anything else running besides the tab streaming the music and GTA:SA? Also what is your download speed, and not just what your ISP tells you, but do a speed test and see what your machine actually gets. (http://www.speedtest.net/)

With the speedtest my download speed is a little bit over 28mbps (I'll post a new test if needed)... So I'm pretty sure that my downloading speed is not a problem...
Also yeah I want a slow-light browser only for my music ... and yeah it'll be the only tihng open+GTA....

With 28mb/s and those specs you should be able to have GTA:SA and music playing with absolutely no problems. There is absolutely nothing to do with the browser. Check background tasks, perhaps something is eating up more resources than you may notice. Also ensure the browser itself, which ever you use, isn't consuming any extra resources with some plugins or background applications. You can check this in Chrome by going to Menu->tools->task manager.

Well the thing is that my Hardware is fucking me up ... and sometimes when I have both music and gta on I either get lower fps for a while or even freezing... Can't really explain it, therefor I'd like to find a very light browser only for that... btw used your "way" to make chrome lighter in general.
Anyway so far I'm probably gonna stick to Chrome/Opera for the music... And I'd like at this point to thank everyone who took his time to even read this topic.

Have you tried listening to the music on anything other than a web browser? (like an audio player)

IE11 is never a good idea.
løl ;) What's the rationale for this advice, though?

I could write a book with all the reason. Hell might consider it.. could become a NY Times best seller!
