Today, Lithuania has been accepted to Euro Zone. Lithuania will undoubtfully get Euros in 2015, January 1st. There currently is no English source as this was just announced on Lithuanian news. The Lithuanian Litas and Euro rates will be 3,45 Litas - 1 Euro. I'm kind of waiting for Euro, since there no longer will be the need to change our currency while traveling since I tend to go to Latvia a lot, but it's kinda hard to let Litas go. Not to mention us and Poland weere the last European continental countries (Continental, UK is an island) to still retain its own currency. I'll miss Maironis and Darius and GirÄ—nas on my Litas bills :S

I tried to translate the Lithuanian article:

"Say good bye to Litas - Lithuania today was invited to EuroZone. Today in Brussels, ministers of all EU countries gathered to the common affairs council of EU, have agreed to let Lithuania join the Euro Zone next year and to become the 19th country to join the Euro zone. The Council has confirmed that the Euro and Lithuanian change rates will stay the same - 3,45 Litas per Euro."

Lithuanian euros:

Congratulations to Lithuania in Brussels:

Will make a difference when they randomly pick out checks at the border, believe me.

Indeed.

Luckely we still have our own currency in Sweden, we had a voting for Euros a few years ago but it was turned down!
