How to block League of Legends servers from your router

Hi,

It's becoming a serious problem for my brother. He has been SUPER addicted to LoL and is ruining his school life due to this game He plays is 24/7 and is at a point where he wont be able to pass in ANY of his classes. You might think that i am not helping him but there isn't any choice left.

Take that his router cord and make him do his work before you give it back

From a quick google search about Port blocking LoL via router, it seems LoL is dynamic/successive in ports (just keeps looking for next available) . In such a case, you would blacklist a server instead, using IP blocking or restriction. Details will vary depending on your SoHo router on HOW to do it, but the concept is simple; log in to the administrative web console of your router, and see what options are available to you.

I've searched and wasn't able to find an IP address that would block all North American servers. If i could get that, i would be able to blacklist it.

I or i should say WE(my family) can't afford that. He barely has a year left of high school. He's has been given alot of lectures but true, he can't control himself. But thanks for the input I seriously hope he does learn. The sooner the better

Unknown how he connects to your home router, if it's via a wireless adapter of sorts just change the network password so next time he tries to connect he won't be able too.  If he's plugging straight into the router and it's his own computer or even one he shares just power off the router everytime he's on.  Plenty of ways to stop him without needing to block LoL servers.

Do what Rusty said, or just shut down the internet connection. He is part of your family, he is having a problem, and you all will have to deal with it even if the circumstances affects each of you.

dont know how someone can get that addicted to LoL , it gets boring after like 2-5 games... just uninstall it from his computer lol.. and keep doing so

Just delete some .dll files from his LoL directory, and don't let him to download the game again or DM him.

Most of the routers/modems got some options, you can set a time for them to work on specific hours for each mac addresses, for example you can set 2 hours per day for your brother's PC/Laptop after that, no internet, no LoL.

He is connected with a wireless adapter. Problem is i can't shut off the internet. If i do, he'll turn it back on with all his shitty attitude. Deleting won't help either since he'll re-install that shit. Even if i do shut off the net, the net will be off from the time he gets up till the time he goes back to sleep, legit non-stop LoL. It's been pissing me off that he is willing to lie at any extent in order to play that fucking game. Is there really no way to block specifically North American servers?

He plays it on a home PC. Its used by everyone so deleting the system32 will cause and issue. Deleting some .dll files from the directory will help until he manages to re-install the game. How many times will i have to do it till he actual stops? From the current situation, it seems like he just wont.
