Laptop screen query

I'm about to buy a replacement laptop screen. The initial screen was 'glossy' but can I buy the 'matte' version?

Whether it is glossy or matte shouldn't make a difference as long as the dimensions are exactly the same and as long as the way it interfaces with the laptop is the same - as in as long as it is compatible with the model laptop you have.

Yes, I am buying the exact same model as the original screen. I just came across at the checkout that I can choose glossy and matte. AFAIK the matte is just coating right? Has no effect on the laptop itself?

Indeed it's just the finish on the screen, keep in mind if you have light shining on the matte screen it may be a little more difficult to see things on the screen than a glossy finish but it's still a better option over glossy.

The same goes for glossy, then you see not only marks but the reflection of any light which is more of an annoyance.
