Rate my Gaming Rig (built today)

Okay so this new build contains following parts:

MOBO M5A97 R2.0 (works perfectly and is very recommended with my CPU)
CPU FX 8350 8 core processor, black edition, not overclocked, 4 GHZ...
PSU 700W Raidmax Vampire Modular
RAM 8GB 1 stick 1866mhz (planning to buy one more later on) - not oc
1TB HDD WD BLUE 7200 RPM - 6GB/S
GPU 280X XFX - 3GB - 384 bit, runs most game on very high settings with no problem

I've got about 6-7 custom FANS... and ofcourse water // liquid cooling, I didn't want to go with the big cooling but I took the CM Seion 120v (took me 4.30 hrs to replace cases and install the new cpu cooling), about 21 degrees celsius with the new cooler when IDLE... will test out load later and update..

Also the cable management is very good now and tied...

new case is SILVER NARWHAL (Raidmax)

Now I see 15 upto 16.1 degrees celsius on idle, two custom fans are attached to the radiator. http://prntscr.com/7w2dfu

PSU is quite unknown brand, don't push it too hard or you might kill your PC.
As for liquid cooling - 120/140mm AIO kits are quite useless, unless you wish to have the aesthetics. You can get much better performing air cooler (Noctua NH-D15, Hyper 212 Evo) at much cheaper price.

What's the ambient temperature? You can't get temps lower than the temperature outside/inside your case (hinting at the 15-16 C idle).

Ambient temperature is about 25-26 degrees celsius, as for the intake fans, I've got two intake fans at the front of the case, two out-take (but only one top out take is currently working until I get an appropriate adapter)

I wanted to go with the Hyper 212 EVO, but bought the liquid cooling aswell. It is about 30 degrees celsius upto 37 on full load currently.
The case itself is a bit cold on touch.

As for the Raidmax PSU, its a known brand, atleast where I live (especially with the Raidmax cases), I've researched the PSU itself its got a good rating aswell

That's because the thermal sensors in AMD CPU cores are notoriously way off (especially in FX series) Just google "amd cpu bad thermal sensor"

Looks like it's an 80+ PSU but I've never heard of that brand either. It looks good so you might as well stick with it now.

Good choice of GPU too, but I would never have spend money on an AMD socket. Would recommend something else but you already bought it and built it right? Also I wouldn't have gone with watercooling like that either. It only gets interesting when everything is watercooled.

All with all a pretty good system, especially that GPU is a real charm for the price. Might wanna switch to something Intel based when the AMD dies though.

I'd never spend any money on anything AMD related. They are unreliable, bad and just utter junk compared to Nvidia or Intel but that's my opinion. As to liquidcooling, Those AIO liquid coolers are very good these days. Especially if you can't be arsed to spend 1000 euros on a proper loop in your system and maintaining it. That being said, I do agree with the fact that the whole system would be more cooler and interesting if completely liquidcooled and that's why I'm planning to liquid cool the GPU and CPU with AIO coolers soon.

I would've agreed with you on AMD last year, but since the R9 series they have caught up nicely. I'm very satisfied with my R9 290X Tri-X's performance. The build quality is good, there are no flaws with the card whatsoever, and for that price you get 4 times the performance nVidia is offering for that money.

Only downside to AMD videocards nowadays are the drivers/control suites. Those are still garbage. Other than that AMD videocards just can't be beaten for their price if you ask me.

AMD CPUs on the other hand cannot compare to Intel. Sandy bridge i5 2500K second hand any time.
