Is it possible to install Windows 8 without VTx?
My processor is Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 and it says it doesn't have VTx, but i have a friend that managed to install it even on a lower version of this processor
How is that possible?

That processor has VT-x support however your motherboard may not be able to see/use it. Could be because of an old motherboard or outdated BIOS version.

I don't think it's a requirement for VT-x if you're installing Windows 8 directly on the hard drive.

AFAIK VT-x is only needed when you're virtualizing, such as running software like VMware and VirtualBox

I have Core 2 Duo E7400 (2.8 Ghz), and Asus P5KPL AM/PS. A very old computer which I doubt meets the specification of Windows 8.1 but it works just fine.

I tried to install windows 8.1 and even windows 10 technical preview from Microsoft both same error

Oh yeah, that's true, that error is in Virtualbox but when i try to install it directly on a hard drive it shows me this Error on the all versions from windows 8 straight up

How do you managed to install it?

Odd. Enabling VT-x somehow is indeed a workaround but you need to enable it in your BIOS. What motherboard do you have?

I heard Intel has included VT in the newest BIOS for that board. Try updating your BIOS. You can get them from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/50375/Intel-Desktop-Board-DG31PR

Yep, the problem is my motherboard which is not compatible with VTX.
