Paranoia is real. Microsoft have always had ways to view what users do, because now it's public knowledge with 10 being released everyone throws their toys up in the air.

It's not just about that. I'll give you a very good example. I've been doing my video editing on kdenlive on Linux for quite some time now. I had kept Windows on my laptop just in case. Since my laptop has a SD Card drive in it, I use it to get the videos of the SD card, then to my USb and then to my main computer. So, I stick the SD Card into the laptop running windows - nothing happens, doesn't recognize the card. Alright. I find a driver, install the driver, stick it in again, it dings, letting me know that something's connected, but the SD Card doesnt show up even after five minutes, try it again a few times, got pissed off. I stick in my Linux LIVE USB into the laptop and restart it. Boot into Linux live mode, stick in the SD card - works out of the box, without even going through the update to gather all the drivers. So when it comes to ease of use, is really Windows that easy? Or is it just a stereotype by people who haven't used Linux for the last five years?

Not to mention that Windows bloats your computer with uneccessary resource usage. I also hate having Windows force updates to my system in the background and not having a way to shut it off. Oh, you're trying to watch a movie? Too bad! Let's load up your bandwith with some updates so you can't buffer the movie properly!

I have a potato connection to the internet yet hardly ever have issues with windows updates interfering with my work, generally the prioritization is set low for the updates which uses minimal bandwidth. Anyway, the topic isn't regarding Linux as I doubt a question regarding a taskbar results in him wanting Linux.

For every day functionality for new and experienced users as well as ease of gaming since that's what most of the people do, Windows still takes the pot.

Alright.

Anyhow, on topic, there is no native function to make the taskbar bigger or smaller as far as I'm concerned. From what I remember, you need external programs for that on Windows which fiddles with your registry system so it might screw something up in the process. Be careful.

Right click on taskbar and untick "Use small taskbar buttons" if it's not already set there. If not, change your DPI settings.

Its time to grow up guys and stop spreading shit daily.

But after I heard about the spyware it sneaks into your computer
It doesn't "sneak" anything in, it essentially is "spyware" (which you agree to when you accept the license terms) to build a profile on the individual user so Cortana can help you and so they can target you with ads that interest you (even in the lockscreen unless you opt-out), since, after all, they need to get that money from somewhere now that they gave like 200 million people (so far) Windows 10 for free., but this goes kind of off topic so I'm gonna drop it there.

Windows 10... *spits*

I wish Windows would stop spamming me with upgrade shit, I like Windows 7 and I want to keep it, leave me the f**k alone!#
I've even heard that they snuck a forced Windows 10 update into a security update for people on Windows 7, and some peoples computers upgraded by themselves during shut down/restart, that is well wrong.

OMG THIS SHIT HAPPEND TO ME YESTERDAY AND NOW I GOT THIS FUCKING GAY WINDOWS 10

I miss my Windows 8,1

I looked up what the downgrade does and the password it will ask is probably the one you used to logon into your Windows 8.1, if you didn't have one, it probably won't ask for one.

Because when i bought my PC the Windows 8,1 were already installed

HINT: If your old Windows was protected with a password, you will be asked for the password to authorize the downgrade.
