I'm using OnePlus X since January or so and I have to say it's the best phone I've had so far. Not only the cameras are great, but the battery can last for two days even when you use 4G all day. The system is very intuitive and fast thanks to the relatively huge RAM, and it can fit either two SIM cards or a SIM and memory card, plus the 8GB inner storage. Best part is it's not overpriced. Can recommend.

I used both, so I think I'm capable of objective thought on this subject.

If you do not really want to customize your phone and you want fast and easy access to your apps and stuff, just get an iPhone, it's simple, yet powerful. I had an iPhone 4S and it lasted me four years without a hiccup, until Apple released iOS 9 with planned obsolence which purposely slowed down my phone..

However, the quality of apps and the way their work, plus the look of an operating system is far better in Android. However, being far more open than iOS and not as consistent as iOS, it tends to slow down over time, just like Windows. So it's kind of like Windows, but for phones, it gives you a lot of control and possibilities, but is prone to lagging and can catch a virus. iOS is a little bit limited control wise and some apps that are free in Android are paid in iOS (since iOS charges developers for a license to develop for iPhones), but it runs smooth and almost never lags.

However, if you want a lag-free phone and you don't apps like Snapchat, yet don't want to spend a fortune on a phone, get a Windows Phone. The OS is very well made, it never lags and feels consistent. Most Windows phones, as the majority come from Nokia (now rebranded to microsoft),  have god-like cameras. So if you need a phone, not a social media machine, I advice you getting a Windows phone.

I had a windows phone and it was meh, it's like having a special needs chihuahua, it looks cute and you are proud when it can do something complex, and when it shits the bed you don't yell at him, you go "awwww" The phone lasted three days on a charge, pressing space returned me to the home screen because of the low PPI, the camera was meh, although I did enjoy it, I certainly don't miss it, but I'm glad I have a better phone. (it was the 640XL)

But just one point at your WP statement, most of the Nokia employees were fired, Microsoft buying off Nokia was a smart way to buy all the patents and later fire all of the workforce. approx 7800 employees were fired. So although you might like the design or whatever, it's not Nokia any more, but Nokia is starting to get back into business, releasing Android tablets and designing Android phones.

Maybe because your phone was over 4 years old and with the launch of iOS 9 it was said not to upgrade it on Iphone 4 and lower due to the performance issues.

I'm sure that's what he meant, only phrased it in his own way, I mean that's at least how I understood him.

But it's impressive, most my phones become slow after a year, having the same phone for 4 years takes dedication.

They made it COMPATIBLE with iPhone 4S. Make no mistake here, it was not iPhone 4, iPhone 4 was stuck on iOS 7, it was iPhone 4s. They PURPOSELY listed iPhone 4s as a supported device to make people who have older iPhones to feel frustrated and get a new iPhone. It's planned obsolence, and Apple does it for quite some time now. iPhone 4s's specs were perfectly capable to handle iOS 9. Not much has changed from iOS 8 and it ran 8 flawlessly.

You have to understand that just like Android, Windows Phone also gets installed on a great variety of devices. 640XL is considered their budget smartphone line. You get what you pay for. You should have bought a flagship instead.

Just read about the 'Sony Xperia X' and looks like I'll be going for that. It's the one I'm looking for.

You should have bought a flagship instead.
it is indeed a cheap, 120 EUR Chinese "Gsmart Classic" it has 1GB of RAM, but the poor 3G connectivity outside the city and queit music volume on headphones are the major turn downs for me.

But you are right, I did what most iphone people trying out android do, I bought the cheap phone, well it wasn't cheap, still costed me 220€, I just wanted to try out the WP ecosystem, and it didn't do it for me (whatever "it" is). I had all the apps I needed, it just wasn't.. for me.

I would suggest sticking to the flagship "Z" series, but you do you bud, I hope you enjoy the phone, there is really no "bad" phone these days, even the WP I bought was okay.

What I really hate about iPhones is their stagnation. Apple is hesitant and really slow to introduce anything new to their devices and OS. iOS has been looking exactly the same with a few hardly noticable tweaks here and there from iOS 7 to iOS 9, and to be honest it really needs a good re-vamp, just like it had when transitioning from 6 to 7. You will have a smooth, user friendly expierience with an iPhone, their cameras are very good too, but overtime you'll get bored with it, because whenever Apple introduces a "new" feature and calls it innovation, chances are Android users had that for ages. Since iPhone 4, the only major change in all new iPhones from 4 to 6 has been the introduction of the fingerprint reader. That's pretty much it, the camera stayed more or less the same, the only change in design was that with each model it got thinner and wider, and now with SE they goes back to the 5S. size. And that's it, nothing new, nothing ground breaking, nothing that makes you go "wow" . You're essentially getting the same phone over and over again. Since Android is customizable, the same version of Android may have a very different visual expierience on various brands of the device. Otherwise I really liked my iPhone, but Apple's terrible bussiness decisions, planned obsolence and failure to intergrate anything new to the phone has driven me away from Apple. If I were to ever get a flagship again it would be either an Android (not a Samsung tho, God forbid those are awful) or a Windows Phone.

@TrotlDebilni  I don't get the point of your argument. I've just told you that you should've gotten a flagship. What I have got doesn't matter. I bought what I could afford, but I don't bash Android because I was a cheapskate and bought a cheap Chinese phone, so you bashing Windows 10 because you bought a cheap phone doesn't make logic either :)

My life has been:
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4
iPhone 5c
iPhone 6

I don't see myself without an iPhone anymore, it's a celphone you simply get used to have.

Same here, I'm used of Iphone.

If you can dream it, You can do it

Nope, don't like the flaps. I always put on a glass screen protector and a case and it would be a pain in the ass to take off my case every time I needed to charge my phone or something.

Oh and I have the iPhone SE already (iPhone 5 )

Congratulations on wasting money on a recycled model which would normally cost you half the price, but since it has an Apple logo stamped on its back, costs twice the price :D  :hah:

I personally prefer iOS, which is unfortunate as I don't enjoy spending money...

I bought a secondhand iPhone 5 two years ago for £200 and could trade it in with Apple for £120 which is pretty reasonable...

iPhone SE is the obvious choice if you like the size of the screen, though the front camera didn't really get an upgrade. Though saying that, 1.2MP is enough since you don't tend to blow up selfies to a huge size...

iPhone 6S is still quite expensive, but in September the 7 should come out, and deals should be had on eBay for a secondhand iPhone 6S as people flock to get the "latest and greatest." I wouldn't get the iPhone 6 as it only has 1GB RAM (same as iPhone 5), and the extra 1GB RAM will likely make a big difference for upcoming iOS upgrades.

Plenty to offer on the Android side if you like the operating system, OnePlus over a few good phones, never liked Samsungs but LG's latest offerings look pretty neat. If you're looking to pay less than 450 quid, buy Android, if you're happy to buy more, then go iPhone, but budget for the 64GB at the minimum since you'll quickly be frustrated with the lack of storage on the 16GB model.

EDIT:
Congratulations on wasting money on a recycled model which would normally cost you half the price, but since it has an Apple logo stamped on its back, costs twice the price :D  :hah:
Some of us have money to waste. Whether it was £250 or £500 it really wouldn't make a huge decision on whether I personally chose to buy it.

So I can walk into apple and they can give me £120 for my phone? Got the 5 for £180 at CeX November '15 so I might consider getting rid of it.

I'm on iPhone 5 32GB and I still have 20gb remaining with all the pictures I have saved (selfies, memes, nudes) I just checked it's 3,653 pictures. 748 songs. Even so, I always back up photos on OneDrive and delete the copies I have on the phone.
