Gotta admit I'd never heard of her before but apparently she was a pretty famous singer who participated in the TV Show The Voice. She was only 22 years old and got shot while signing autographs.

There's a lot of death and destruction in the world, but there is something harrowing when someone is shot dead. No illness, no reason, just meaningless death.
Thoughts are with her family, that is something which no person or family should ever have to go through.

For the many of us who knew and loved Christina Grimmie even before "The Voice", when she was "just" a YouTube sensation, watching her grow as an artist, and now, hearing about her senseless murder in cold blood, it all feels too unreal.

Her death feels so personal to millennials, much more than the big-name celebrities, because in a way, she grew up with us. More than just her talent, Christina inspired an entire generation of cover artists, telling us that we shouldn't feel like less of musicians just because we can't compose yet.

The self-anointed intelligentsia of the industry may never have fully appreciated artists like her, but her fans will always keep her memory alive. Rest now, Christina. Thank you for your music. You will be sorely missed.
