You *may* already have audio going along the DVI cable.

Try right clicking your volume icon down the bottom right, click "Playback devices," right click another playback device onscreen, it might reference HDMI, Digital, TV or something like that, and "Set as Default"

That's all I see. Btw, I forgot to mention it's not really DVI. VGA to DVI adapter :)

Ah, DVI to VGA will not be carrying audio at all as VGA only carries video.

Do you not have a 3.5mm audio jack input to your television?

Oh.. my.. god. It's a hidden compartment that I didn't even notice myself after owning this TV for years. Thanks for pointing that out  - VGA still isn't HDMI but who gives a fuck.

Try to connect the HDMI Cable, and check if your playback device is selected.

Regarding the MOBO thing.. could find some cases were the drivers were not up to date and the sound would malfunction although it's rare..

As soon as I remove the VGA/DVI cable.. a floating 'Not supported!' around the TV screen. I legit can't do anything until I put in the VGA/DVI cable. Recommend any program I can use to identify drivers to update?

VGA + audio cable is fine but it's for my own OCDness to try and get the HDMI to work. Why settle for 2 wires when you have the option for 1.

And when you plug the HDMI to the TV you selected the HDMI option on the source menu?

Your PC has a GTS450 correct?

If you enable the motherboard video, and connect your HDMI cable to the motherboard, the GTS450 will be sitting there not being used, and you'll notice a HUGE hit on your gaming performance as you'll be using your integrated motherboard graphics chip. I recommend you do not even consider this as an option.

If you've got any DVI, HDMI ports etc on the back of your GTS450 I recommend you use those if you want audio through the same cable. If you haven't, then use a 3.5mm male to male cable to connect the rear audio jack of your PC to your television and neaten it up with cable ties if the mess is irritating.

It's possible, but needs a small tweak.

What CPU/Mobo you got? You need to enable Multi-Monitor (or something like that) in BIOS in order to use integrated GPU and dedicated simultaneously.

No idea what my Mobo is, anyway I can find out through the OS? Or I can send a pic of the Mobo to you?

Surely this would still compromise the performance of the game?

From what I'm seeing, you just need one of these to use your HDMI cable with audio. Any brand will do. Just as long as it is mini-HDMI male to HDMI female. Don't plug your HDMI into the motherboard as it will be running off of an integrated graphics chip (shit). Just plug it into the adapter that's going into the GTS 450.

DVI is good but you'll have to run an analog audio cable to your TV, which is fine but causes more cable clutter. VGA looks like shit compared to HDMI or DVI so don't use that.

Its time to grow up guys and stop spreading shit daily.

I suppose from everyone's feedback I shouldn't use the HDMI port from the MOBO. Looks like I'll grab one of these adapters then. Yeah Link, I have 2 cables out for no reason and it's pissing off the OCD part of me

I'm so back on PC technology I didn't even notice the mini HDMI port on my GPU  :dead:

Ah, didn't know you had a mini HDMI port, that certainly makes things easier... careful with those things, they can be quite fragile if knocked.

So my GPU makes the most noise in my PC and it's really annoying. It's on the floor and legit sends hums all over the house.. getting screamed at by my siblings 24/7. On start up especially, it loud like you're revving a car.

I have cleaned it
I updated the driver
I made sure nothing is touching it.

I know its GPU 100% cos I stopped the fan and the rest of the PC was quiet. Maybe worth mentioning I was cleaning it when I first got it and broke 2 flaps on the fan but I doubt that will be a big difference.
