I wonder why on one simple "respect each other" people need such topics with some thought over in their minds words and game options? Power gaming, meta gaming... All is BS... Respect each other and will not have any f**king problem...

Experience shows such RP servers with zomg prisoned laws have problems between players as well... And we have problems between players cos more and more community started making its own laws like Hayden - one of those who wants players to breath on server by command and move left-right by command... Once Argonath community started making its own law on every f**king step - started more moaners, problems between each other even veterans and regulars...

Some of you remember player Tuntis... And his "roleplay"... I was taking part once in his roleplay - I slept cos was bored... 30 minutes /me with the bomb in the hotel... /me sniffs /me feels /me looks /me checks /me founds /me going   /me drives /me drinks /me this /me that

And you think this is roleplay we want on Argonath? Or using /me will make you zomg roleplayer?

with all this power gaming, meta gaming, in character flame, out character flame, etc.... You make the game being a shit... Because you want a respect of each other (multiplayer) to be scripted in this freaking words...

You cannot script respect... You can just understand the position of other player or not... If not - you know where is exit...

To all roleplayers beginners - forget about this (()) so called OOC or IC chat... You have local chat /l which is for roleplay and public chat /p or just type - for any kind of contact... You have phones, SMSs, radio on server, you have TeamSpeak as well... So if you do not use this freaky (()) in your talk on server - no problems and you are not forced to be a parrot to repeat everything other servers invent cos there is boredom... We have our own policy and world...

To those who tried to implement this on server - I will start take actions against such players... Can not roleplay - do not teach others to be a f**king bots or clowns...

 I think this guide was awsome, and I sadly not agree with Aragorn. By doing all those /me commands I think rise the RP to another level. Metagaming and powergaming is two things you should think about, but not put in as rules, and this just to make everyone "happier" for the RP. Hayden making laws by the way? He writes down a roleplay guide from (probably, hopefully) his own experience. He wants to share his experience and I see nothing bad with that.
 His way to RP is just a way to do it, and not written laws you have to follow. It's not like he's trying to force us to do anything, but trying to make us even better. This way of Roleplaying I think is just brilliant, while others might think it's not. (Though I have to agree on that I don't use (( )) that much anymore).
 
Now, about flaming IC and OOC, it's not allowed in any way so it shouldn't even be discussed. And as Aragorn here says, "Experience shows such RP servers with zomg prisoned laws have problems between players as well". You might think that there's even more Moaners these day, but I don't think you've seen the lately new effect of this kind of RP - I actually see more and more and better and better RPers.  Also, this is still not any made rules,

It's a tool to make better RP. Aragorn might get a bit sleepy with this kind of RP but I still really think it's a very good way to RP and I know others think so too.
 I think people understands this wrong, it's nothing you try to implant in the server, he tells us a way to RP, now I feel like I'm just repeating myself, but that's as said the truth. If people start moaning about things like this, then we just see that they are dumb enough to think they're rules. Just ignore people like this and everything will be better. And I remember everything wasn't godlike in 2007 either. I remember LCV and NitrOxs all gangs against Corleone, and fights about this all the time, it was other types of fighting, it was flaming and DMing, now it's moaners and whiners.

What's best? Who knows?

But we supposed server where people driving cars, racing, chasing, shooting, stunting... And sitting all your life on server /me /me /me /me/ mem/e/me/m/em/e/me/m/em/ would be the poorest RP I will ever see...
Do not overtake and everything will be ok...

As about laws - yes - Hayden is trying to set laws - this or that way - he is not stopping, making topics one by one, forcing people think he is right, pressing on their minds "if you do not use OOC or IC you are a poor roleplayer"...

This is why I said - if I will see people start use it to turn server into forgotten legend of roleplaying - I will take action to all those who forced peoples minds that without OOC or IC they are bad roleplayers... and if it will take place on server a lot - I will disallow even OOC and IC... And everyone who will start using it - will have tempbans on one day...

I do not want a shit on servers - and I saw already a lot with this OOC IC flame or not flame, poor RP, metagaming bastard etc... That is why I warned...

You might see this from the wrong angle. He is still only giving us tools and nice and good ways of roleplaying. He never says "If you don't use OOC or IC you seriously suck", or any kind of proof that we all are poor if we don't use OOC and IC. I think Hayden is doing topics one by one just to give people knowledge about new ways to RP.

And you first few sentances there, what do you really mean? If I connect to the server just for "blah blah" then probably /me is the best for me? I don't understand. I do come to the server just to RP and have fun, if I understand it correct you say that the server is for driving cars, chasing, shooting and stunting. And not to do... /me. And anyways, we ain't talking about /me commands, we're talking about Haydens tools for great RPing.

So if a few people actually likes OOC and IC way to RP, you'll have to ban those people too? Just because you might not like that way to RP doesn't always means that others does. And I've never seen anyone forcing people to use OOC and IC, I personally doesn't use this too much, and I still work great. But it's a great RP tool as I've said many times before, and I think the server will remain as it is now.

/ me is good for those who come on server and use it as virtual chat - this is what I mean...
Half of actions you can "translate" by simple game actions (hiding, crying, whistling, taking phone), so no use to overtake with /me command on every move you do... It makes roleplay boring...

The coin action Isn't synced. The other person just stands in front of  it and gains HP ( If not full ). We can NOT see the animation

Ron, show me where I demanded to make laws, this & that. I've made topics, as a "Headsup" to certain things, I never said "Add this rule now."
And, Ron, you are the reason I've given up even helping new players ingame, and even doing helpful things with the forums...

Your posts above is a prime example...

This is similar to a battlefield 2 server I play on, it's infantry only (Meaning, no vehicles, just foot soldier)
And, you have the MEC team and USA team who always run up to eachother between the Hotel Flag and the right American Spawn. All they would do is throw grenades, die, respawn, repeat.

Then you had two squads who didnt jsut run, nade, die - They actually went to get flags, and win, rather than go try and get the most kills.
What did the MEC team do? Complain and moan on why they lost, and calling Americans 'pussy' for not fighting.

what I'm trying to say is - Alot of people do the //-ooc:-(( )) thing, because we like to, and it's what we prefer.

Once again for all: Do not like Argonath style - leave our servers or play by Argonath rules... Do not even f**king try to set your own... There is NO any OOC and IC chats styles on Argonath... We have OUR OWN chat system... Keep to it, otherwise any attempt "aw you are a poor RP you do not know what is OOC" will be considered as flame in purpose and flamer will be banned...
