This will contain multiple issues that i find with current skill system and i hope that my ideas will be considered for a fix:
1. The skill leveling up system is as bad as previously and reducing skill level did not change anything.Skills are still based on the same XP amount of each level. Currently, each level is 2500 XP, instead of 1000 as it was previously.
The leveling system and needed XP for level should be exponential.
The leveling system should make sense and it needs to get more difficult towards the end, not when the player has started the skill for the first time.
I suggest using some sort of exponential formula in the skill system. I have constructed one such formula to give an idea how I think it should look, even with the same max lvl / max exp as it is now:
2. Fishing should be skill.Simple - its decent activity with a lot to find and explore, but to give it an additional boost, it should be a skill.
3. /recipes for crafting are all messed up.for starters - max level now is 20, but the armor case is at level 40
the text for ingredients is not readable for many of the cases that can be crafted
4. in /skills there should be current xp/xp at next levelPlayer should be able to see his current xp (as it is now), but should also see at what xp lvl is gained
5. Perks for skills should not be hiddenIf a skill has a perk, then it should not be hidden and should be displayed somewhere. As mining currently has some that are not listed anywhere.
They might be listed in /help mining, / help crafting if needed which brings me to my next point
6. Double-clicking skill in /skills should do somethingAt the moment since there is no other windows related to skills i think then double-clicking a skill in skills list should open the approperiate /help menu for that skill.
7. Skills themselves should not be hiddenin the /skills you should be able to see all possible skills with 0 current xp and at what xp is the next level.
Also combined with the correct help info being opened the player will have a clue what this skill is and how to do it.
8. Mining ore XP needs to be correctedAt the moment each ore takes a different lengths of time to mine, but all return the same XP which makes no sense. Currently, all ores return 15 XP which might be a good number, but not for all of them. i believe that the XP returned should be 2x sec it takes to mine the ore. so Iron being the fastest i believe is 5 sec to mine and would return 10 XP, Sage being the longest i think was around 18 sec to mine and would return 36 XP.
I hope that any developer will get thru this list and understand how half of this stuff is just screwing with the whole system.
