in 2006 there was a voting to decide if guns would be outlawed or not in Brazil. The answer was an utterly uber NO.
The main reason is that there was no point to forbid it to people that follow the laws, while leaving criminals getting those guns illegally. HOWEVER, it's VERY unusual to see a normal citizen in Brazil that has a gun.

I can understand the purpose of having a gun IF you live in a rural area, since it's rare to see the police there, and also hunting there is understandable if you do it for a living or to protect yourself from agressive animals (Which is very rare situation). Hunting for fun/sport is totally against my conception (which of course, is different from other people's) as I think that is one of the factors that contribute to ruin our fauna. Also, think it this way: (this may be really hard): Imagine I'm the hunter and you the animal, I think hunting is fun and I have no respect for your life, and you have to run like hell if you don't want one of the bullets on your ass. Good Luck.

I'm glad you understood my point and made a wise choice. :hurray:

Except... for that last paragraph...

Iraq isn't a shit country. Actually, no country is. All countries have their importance, culture and individuality. No country is superior than another in those aspects. (Maybe importance, but only on some cases).

No I didn't see your point, guns are a traditional object that will remain with us forever...

Case and Point, Fuck your gun protesting, when I get older, Im goin to buy a mac 11, very expensive and cost money and time to get a Class III License, but whatever

It is absolutely ridiculous that a parent would opt to buy a 12 gauge shotgun for their 12 year old son, come on people the kid probably hasn't even learned how to masturbate never mind shoot a powerful piece of equipment like a gun, that can end someone's life with the flick of the trigger, let alone a mistake, which can happen often.

His dad probably did what my dad did for me

"Ill buy you a gun, but its gonna stay up here so your sneaky little fingers cant touch it" when i was smaller

My Grandfather let me shoot his Desert Eagle on his farm when i was 8 (with him holding the stock of the gun to help with recoil)
I felt like a badass all week.

I was walkin around in school with my chest all puffed out like "Yea..."

Animals are not only killed for meat... and besides that we are predators. A lion is much more sloppy in killing than people.  ;)

* Think of ho many polyesters are killed for one sweater....
* Plants have feelings too.. no more cotton or using fig leaves....
1. Yes, we are predators. This is the nr.1 reason why I am a vegetarian, and have been since I was 9 years old (yes, my own choice.) I am the only vegetarian in my whole family, and I only know one other vegetarian, but I'm never with her so doesn't count.
Anyways... Humans are predators, yet we "farm" animals? That's not right. If the case where that we actually hunter the animals that we eat, I'd eat meat. But I do not like the fact of farming other animals. - Now please bear in mind that humans are animals too.

And about the vegetables being farmed, It is a whole other thing. Plants has yet to show us any kind of affection, feelings or anything. Pigs for example have and still do. I mean, in china they even eat dead kids, I don't know the name of it... They torture dogs cause they think it will taste better.
And if plants start talking 'n stuff, I'd stop eating plants too, and find something else to eat. Or just hunt / farm it myself.

Simple as that. And killing animals for fun is in my opinion much better then farming them and then slaughtering them.

Oh and ofc. You can buy a pigs ass at the nearest shop, woho for humanity!

Abraham, I hope that you are a Vegan, not a vegetarian. Otherwise it is kind of hypocrite.
For instance refusing to eat meat because of farming, but wearing leather, eating fish that are farmed as well or eating eggs.
If you keep it real, my respect to you, it is always good to do what you believe in.

Farming is what has made it possible for humans to stay in one place instead of following the animals to gather food. Once we stayed in one place , there was enough time to start talking, writing and develop new ideas. Without the concept of farming we would never be writing this.

i was a vegetarian because your eating flesh of an animal....not the skin of a potato u cant compare the 2, plants cant think for themselves, they don't cry, they are never happy, where as animals cry and can be happy. no I'm not one of those people who are like SAVE THE ANIMALS just i agree on that part...although I'm not a vegetarian anymore lol.

if plants have NO feelings, then why do they respond if you talk to them?

If drinking and driving is illegal, why do bars have parking lots?

Omg...
When you breath out you "deposit" a kind of air, I don't know the english word, but I think it's called Koldioxid (swedish). The plants need this kind of "air" to survive. So that's why they say you should talk to your plants and they will grow happy.

I'm a, I believe it's called... "lacto vegetarian" or something like that.
No, I do not wear leather, or dead animals.

Yes, I do eat fish, yes I do eat eggs, Yes I do eat butter and I eat cheese.
Why? Because if I didn't I would have to eat pills. - I am still a child, my body has not yet finished growing. Therefor I need a "substance" found in meat and fish. So I chose to eat fish instead of meat.

Fish is NOT farmed like pigs for example are. Fishes live free their whole life, then humans "hunt" (Go out with boats and catch them in huge nets) them down, and we eat them.
About butter and cheese, there's a substance in that wich I need aswell for my bones to grow stronger.

Also, you have to respect the fact that I was 8 years old when I first started talking about being a vegan / vegetarian. But I was told not to, and when I was 9 I completely refused to eat any kind of meat, but I was forced to eat fish, eggs, milk etc. I have talked about being a Vegan for very long, and will probably be once I turn 20' something.

Not to mention, People eat this farmed meat EVERY DAY. And fish is being eaten maybe... 1-2 times a week? Myself, I only eat fish... 1-2 times every month. I also do not drink milk at all.

And last but not least, I am the only one who is a vegetarian in my whole family, my mother I believe was aswell when she was 16-18 but then stopped. Now, this means that me and my mother where the first in my whole family history whom refused to eat meat. And my father who is a great meat eater, loves meat always has wasn't really suportive at the beggining, not to mention my grandmother...

I think it's really wrong of you to accuse me of being a hypocrite, as unlike you or most of the people here I actually try to do my best.

I aint santa... Ive got something for the bad bitches too.

If you are serious about being vegan/vegetarian, check out the Hindu and Taoist food. They have a very long history of not eating meat or even fish, and have great taste and variations of food. As for cheese/butter (as long as you need it) with a little effort you might be able to find a farm where this is produced 'old fasioned' style. While the animals there will still end up on a plate, the small scale makes that the farmers care for the animals better, and the products will taste better as well.

As I said if you are genuinely making the effort, you have my respect. Just as when I will eat with a group of Hindu people and they ask if they should order some meat, I will refuse. While I see no personal reason to give it up, there is nothing against leaving meat off the menu when eating with vegetarians.
