With this topic we hope to answer some of the rumours that we have heard. It will stay here a limited time. If anyone feels the information here is wrong they are welcome to PM me.
Q: Was Argonath made for revenge about permbans ?
A: No. the idea to start Argonath came before one of our founders was permbanned from ab. The reason was that to the opinion of the founders the admins stopped listening to the community and formed their own group, disallowing and banning those who did not agree with their policies.
Q: Did Argonath steal the scripts and ideas ?
A: No. Our scripts are based on open source published scripts. The MTAVC forums contain the basic scripts and ideas we used. Gandalf re-wrote the scripts where needed, and added commands to our own ideas. In the future we will continue to add new script commands, based on what we think are good ideas from our team and members.
Within RPG it can not be avoided that certain ideas look alike, and we get request to make the same scripts as on other servers. We will always look to make it work the best from our point of view. Also we give full credits to anyone who helped us, even if they decided to leave.
Q: =MS= clan support can not be true, as =MS= clan belongs to ab.
A: =MS= clan is one of the old and best clans, and the one who suggested the start of ab and worked together with AB to build it in to a special community. We are proud that they gave permission to show their support for our initiative, and hope we can fulfill our target.
Q: Our admins use different nicks from AB because they want to take away players and destroy play there.
A: No. We are a new project and it is understandable that people want to play on more than one server, even if they have admin rights. It proved they were right to fear trouble on other servers if it would be known they were admin here. We do not understand this at all. Any of our server players and admins is free to play wherever they want. But we do ask our admins and modders to regularly do their job.
Q: ab disallows their players to play here and that is why they use another nick.
A: No. I do not think the owner of ab would ever disallow his players to play on other servers. However it seems that one of their clans welcomes the war and does disallow their members to play here. Strange enough these members do look in now and then.
Q: Argonath want other servers to go down.
A: We want to be the best, and that means we will be working hard to become it. We still have some way to go but we are already looking at a new generation of RPG players as well as having support from long time players. But we think that there are more RPG players than server slots and there is room for many good servers. We do not mind or fear competition, as long as they plair fair and honest like we try.
Q: Argonath started war by their behaviour.
A: We never attacked other servers. We never spammed chats on server or forums. We never advertised our server on other servers or forums.
We will not allow our players to do such things to support us.
We did get attacked, flooded and spammed. Our reaction is to ask the administration of the other servers to keep their players under control. If it gets too much, we will try to report the attackers ISP for abuse. We will not reply by attacing other servers.
Q:Players from certain clans or servers are not welcome on Argonath
A: It depends. Anyone who wants to play following the rules and do RPG is welcome on our server. All who come to deathmatch, break rules, hack, cheat, spam and advertise are not welcome. It does not depend on who you are or where you are from. It depends on how you play the game.
