Photoshop is realy adictive in the first week I almost did it non stop :P

Don't cut, use the magic selection tool. It will find the edges of the object you are trying to select and if it selects to much you press on the " - " and you can take parts of the selection. It's a really usefull tool and it's unbelievable how it works

Especially with those drawn pictures, or pictures of games it works great because there is a great difference between the colors.

magic selection tool makes the edges rough for me and looks obvious that it has been used, pen tool all the way :P

Dude, you use pen tool? Then it takes ages to cut out a big picture, and the edges will really be rough then..
I think you have an older photoshop version because the quick selection tool has smoothest edges ever.
