Questions on xbox 360

I am planning to buy a xbox 360 only because of GTA IV, COD4, and COD2..
People around me suggested me to buy xbox live as well,
since it is pointless to have a xbox 360 if I dont play online...

Xbox 360 premium costs like.. 350 dollars..
Xbox live costs 50 dollars..
COD4 = 60 dollars
GTA IV = 60 dollars

Over 500...

I dont need to buy the wireless adapter since I am going to use the ethernet cable..
However, the problem is that I and other people are not sure if I can play online by plugging the cable, which is for PC, to the xbox 360..

So, I want some opinions...
Should I buy xbox live when I am buying xbox 360, or should I do the 30-days trial, which is
included with the xbox first so that I can see if I like it or not..?

When you buy an Xbox you can register for a Silver membership. This will allow you to view online content, but some games will not allow you to play multiplayer, and most will not allow you to host a multiplayer game.
The ethernet cable for a PC or for a Xbox is the same, no worries there.

With the Xbox comes a 1 month Gold membership. After that you have two options.
1. Buy the membership for 1 year (prices have been lowered recently)
2. Buy a new game every month that has a 1 month trial to extend your membership.

Best thing is to use the trial, then check what you miss if you have only silver membership... Microsoft will not refuse your money later on

I have both, and i cant even play online on the 360, I use the ethernet cable, plugged it in, registered my 1 month free trial. Then it signs me into xbox live 2 seconds later "u have been signed out of xbox live"


May aswell of got a PS1 for 300 less

I also had that last week but it only affected my fifa 2008 i could play gta online weird ..

it kept login gin out in out

I hear more problems with the service ..I really think they cant ask you to pay for something that doesnt work for a lot of people a lot of times while Ps3 online function is free..and does work ..

It might have something to do with that the connection xbox live uses is a p2p connection

you get silver for free

and GTA 4 comes with a free month, and now

COD 4 GOTY comes with a free month aswellz
