Which are not directly role-play tips, but more like self-induced realism handicaps that in the long end only cause moaning about others not applying the same to them, even though they don't have to.
The main point still exists, which is that he is just giving out some tips.
If it causes moaning about players applying the same, then its that players fault for using these tips and should get punished for bitching all the time.

So in your viewpoint it is normal and and ethical to give bad advice to new players?

And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.

Some people prefer this type of role-play. I can't see it as bad, unless you try to avoid the role-play with other players' individualistically style. It should be your style, not anyone else, as we are all different.

Does the topic say in the heading, 'Roleplaying tips for New Comers' ?

style
No. A set of rules/handicaps.
Also why give tips that include a set of personalized rules that are not general? That's hardly helping.

I can't see it as bad, unless you try to avoid the role-play with other players' individualistically style.
Avoiding role-play as in not playing with someone by not visiting their usual activity area I do not see as bad. Bad is if player1 moans about player2 not following player1's own rules - which is essentially what happens most of the time when playing with people following these tips.

Does the topic say in the heading, 'Roleplaying tips for New Comers' ?
It's still bad advice even to regulars.

Play for fun and friendship, not for stats or achievements.
If you do not want to roleplay, log off. Remember that "do not force RP" does NOT mean you can refuse to interact with other players.

It's still very usefull!

Do you really think this guide will help new players and introduce them to our vision?..
Any player that does not agree with our server vision & rules is free to leave to another server.

In the past, we asked ourselves whether judo fighters would win against boxers and whether ninjitsu would beat karate fighters. All sides argued their pieces stating their advantages and disadvantages but ultimately the conclusion was that the best style is to have no style. Like Bruce Lee said - 'Empty your mind, be formless. shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend'

Some history about MMA to serve as a concept for this discussion:

MMA Evolution - Highlight by Robert Park

Though much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

not style. rules.

Boxers will most likely moan about kickboxers for kicking them if they assume that the kickboxer has to play by the boxers' rules, ie. no kicking.

1 Realism is NOT equal to role-play and vice versa.

It is because you're playing San Andreas with human beings, not World of Warcraft with creatures.

not style. rules.
Stop saying that. I've explained many times that as long as it's within the borders of Argonath, it's not a rule.
I believe "a certain style derived from rules" is more correct. You might as well be saying a republic is a democracy just because it's derived from that.

NO CHEATS, NO MODS, NO HACKS

NO GLITCHES, that give you advantage over other players
 NO PAUSING WHEN COMBAT, WANTED
 NO REVENGE KILLING
 NO FLOOD THE CHAT WINDOW
NO SPAM (advertisment of other servers and sites, that do not belong to Argonath RPG server is NOT allowed)
NO FLAME/INSULT players. If you came to play on our server - respect it and our players
NO ATTACKING WITHOUT A PROPER REASON
 NO ESCAPING WHEN SURRENDERED (RPG)
FOR ONE CHASE CRIMINAL CAN CHANGE ONLY 5 CARS. Fight or surrender (RPG)
POLICE VEHICLES ARE ONLY FOR POLICE DEPARTMENTS (RPG)
 NO MONEY CHEATING
IMPOSTERS ARE NOT ALLOWED (no any copying other players' nicks or regular clans' tags)
SLANG IS ALLOWED ONLY AS A PART OF ROLEPLAY (swearing as personal attack on players will be punished)
NICKS WITH THE UNREADABLE LETTERS ARE NOT ALLOWED (Please refrain from using ?/|\{}[]()-=+/*)

English: You're not stuck to just doing one thing. You can use your own style (Grz, if you say anything about rules or whatever, you're going to fucking set me off) and you should be able to do so freely.
Frank, that was a beautiful metaphor. If anyone tries to prove you wrong, they're simply going to make themselves look ignorant. :D

I disagree, for the same fact that we are playing San Andreas and not dealing with real-life. If you would want reality then you would leave the server forever after getting killed once now would you? If people like reality they go and play Sims.

Woeps.. I am sorry if i try to break the vision, i am only trying to get more people to RP, nothing more, nothing less.

I am trying to hold off any future "mandatory IC/OOC use for everybody" topics. The ones Argonath used to have in 2008, about the same time this topic was created.

And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.
