I think you & Rusty stated some good points there.

Still it is wrong if you say that it is easy to make money on SAMP.
If you're new & you just want to try earning some cash with the given scripted jobs you won't do it for long.
A medic earns around $90 max. per patient he heals, right now the money goes to the patient and not to the paramedic, a bug which isn't fixed yet.
A lot of people don't care about the roleplay, they have tons of cash but prefer sprunk / vending machines.
A random firearm (Deagle in this case) costs around $1000, a medic needs to find 10 customers who are willing to roleplay the healing & who actually give him the cash.
- Impossible.
Whenever I am trying to call a paramedic out of roleplay reasons because one of my friends got injured during a shootout / brawl, I am waiting for nothing because nobody plays as medic.

If you're working as driver you have the same problem. People prefer to bunnyhop for minutes to get a free unlocked vehicle instead of calling a taxi, instead of giving the driver something to do. I've tested it a lot of times, most of the time the new player was actually really nice, tried to be friendly & roleplay the little situation. I gave those guys a big tip (500-1000$). A lof of people call for a taxi, aren't patient enough and simply run for a new car, the taxi driver arrives in San Fierro and sees that he came there for nothing, because of a guest without patient. It can be really frustrating.

So almost everyone goes on duty as freecop, simply because there is always someone to hunt & the job is based on some action (driving & shooting).
However, those guys aren't really good roleplayers most of the time.

Everyone tells new players "Watch out for events, you can make money there".
I mean, what the fuck?! It simply cannot be the truth that you can gain cash by events only if there are scripted jobs.
A driver needs to work 2 damn hours to be able to buy a fucking pistol? This simply can't be the truth if you can get $100000 with a stupid quiz.
The veterans always win and new players don't have a chance to get some extra cash, how should they know everything about a stuid clan which doesn't exist anymore??

The currently scripted jobs are useless and you can remove them because nobody needs / gets something from it anyways if you're new.
Some veterans work from time to time as medic / driver, not for the cash but to have some fun with a different roleplay character.

Legolas, may I just say is that some servers are called "RPG Death Match" and most Roleplaying servers are just called RP, maybe you should change the name of the server to just ''Argonath Roleplay'' or ''Argonath RP'' this might make some people realise "Oh shit this isn't a deathmatch server, for I have heard there is a great difference from RPG to RP.

Unfortunately true Legolas ... Occasions are rare ... Let's take a few example :

-Someone shoot at the cops and try to run, get killed and call them aboozer !!! ... You find that normal ? You want to shoot at them and not receive a punishement ? Go to single player ...

-Someone come next to a cop and begin to punch his car only to get suspected ... Normal ? ...

-Some freecop come beside you, you are standing still on the sidewalk : You were suspected for reckless driving

And we could go all night like thise but let's not be totaly mean and bad, some people knows how to RP, some guys on server are very good rper with whom we can RP interrogation and such and even some weird situation (Hunting a dog that did bite a citizen ... ^^) ... But most of the time, you do something, let say you move and you get suspected if you are not a cop ...

By the way, Legolas, for your information there is a state bar without fee :=) The ARPD bar, on the highway between San Fierro and Los Santos, in flint county, on the sea side of the road, a slamvan spawn just beside. Notice something : It is always empty ...

Why does no one wants to be a medic : No one wants to RP with a medic or very rarely ... And what happen when you are a medic ? Your name is red ... So ? Freecops charge you and begin to shoot at you for no reason, thinking you are a suspect ... You need to tell them 3 times before they stop shooting ... And you need to repeat the process every 10 minutes ... NOT NORMAL

Why does no one wants to be a taxi driver ? People rarely call up a taxi or when they do, they are not patient enough. Ex : A guy call a taxi in Blueberry, you pm him : Ok taxi is coming, 4 minutes.   ... You are almost in Blueberry : Pm from XXXXX : It's ok I found a car ... First time you say Ok that can happen ... Second time you still say ok it's cool ... Third time you begin to get pissed and fourth time you want to kill so you decide not to go on taxi duty anymore ...

And there I'm not talking about admin work ... People complain that it takes time to admin to answer or that admins are blind or all that blah blah .... Do you see what kind of reports we get ?  Don't want to give me my car !!!! ... Nice report ! ... Flaming in pm ... How do you want us to check that ? And then you come and OMGOMGOMG BAN HIM PL0X !!!!!   ... Admins work following what we see ... If we see the rulebreak, we will take action. If we see nothing, we won't take action. And now you got all those fellaz who think it's easy to be an admin, you just connect, sit on your steak and watch everything .... wRONg ... First, you are not yet even logged, you see mainchat flooded by hey admin can you help me ... You log in ... You pm, phone, sms all get flooded by : CAn you help me with this, that, this player keep breaking rules, etc... etc... While this happens, you see a few reports incoming, you check who are the other admins ... There are 10 other admins ... All running after everywhere to solve all reports ... Then, it's only the 1st minute you are logged, people begin to whine : Why ur not answering me ??????? HELLO YOU ARE NOT ALONE !!!!!!!! But no, you need to remain polite so you decide to set your pm off ... Then you take one by one over main chat .... When you finaly think you are done, someone need something else or got a complaint about this or that ... So you go for it, listen, try to find solutions ... Finaly, once you are done, you get ready to go play and see the time ... You just spent 2 hours answering and doing this and that, watching rulebreakers and such .... And now you must go .... And you didn't played one second ... All you had was people unhappy, coming at you to whine for EVERY POSSIBLE REASON ON EARTH !!! I remember once a player complained to me because there were no PINK CARS !?!?!?!?! ... LOL ??? I beg you perdon meh my dear sir but go paint one ... He answered : I dont wanna have to pay for it its server problem not mine ! ...

And then you ask why sometimes admins answer you straight out with answer such as : I don't know Ints id's by heart, check in forum, in gallery section, SAMP house interior     ... Well ... If you could just see all what we see in one day ... You would understand ...

You want to know what's the best answer to a new player trying to DM ? Blanc Federico had it ... Or was it Leppi ? ... Not sure ... Anyways the guy turn around us, punching in the air and coming toward us ... And the Agent answer very politely : May I help you sir ? ... The guy just went away ... He never had to tell him : Stop dming omai imma report u to admins .... He said very politely May I help you? ... And it was enough ...

And then you have those people who think admins are moneytrees : Pl0x give me money ... And even admin to admin : Pl0x u haz load of cash ... In my case this cash don't even belongs to me entierly ... Most of it is FBI money. And yes we checked average players money ... I did that a few months ago ... Nothing really awesome ... Ever gave 100 dollar to a new player ? ... No ? ... Try this : Explain the server to a new player and ask him if he understand ... If he does, give him 100 dollars .... Not only you will avoid this player to be forced out of server but you will aswell gain a friend :=)

Jaaska thats so true, i agree with nearly all of you, people are begining to just complain about everything,
like money to fix their car because someone apparently hit them, or they where DMed and they want their wepons back or money for weapons or car mods after a server restart.
they never accept the hard work admins are constantly doing..
These people come on and all they do is complain about every small problem..
then expect admins to do everything, its called a "ROLEPLAY Server" and they never just wait to RP all they want to do is mess around,
get chased by police, kill other people, Innocent or not innocent..
as you said when people call a Taxi or Limo..
They call one and after youve contacted them while youre on your way they send a message to you saying theyve found a car or got another lift or way to get there,
theyre to impatient to just wait for you and RolePlay properly, they just want the fastest possible way to get anywhere...

Thanks Jaaskaa and all of you that understand my point. Dont stick in one role, playing diferent roles makes you true roleplayer. One day you are bandit and other you sell ice cream on the street. Be more politley to others, try fix somethin by yourself, explain.

About admins job, its pure true whats Jaaskaa told. And yes, i know that bar. RON and i was building that interior and we set it there Problem is... to far from LS where all players are.

In MTA, you can just walk into a shop and begin work as the cahier/cook/chef/whatever. In SA:MP you actually have to own the buisness and then all the rest is done via commands. We had to roleplay out everything, from buying and selling drinks to working as a taxi firm. Everything was pre-planned and roleplayed out fully. I would say that even the newer MTA guys can roleplay better than most of the SA:MP guys. I'm deadly serious about that point.

i sold fishsticks 1 time, didnt helped much,
got a Victim, not much customers to RP with

so SAMP got great RPers, so dont take all our players as a bad RPer, because you only know 1 SA person, which is bad RPer

No offence, but i'm really not thinking this topic was made with 1 Player in mind.. The community may have great RP'ers.. Yet the half uses their skills.... I hope this topic may give a boost to the community, But as always that boost will die out together with this topic's age... Words will fade in people's mind once again.

Well, here at Argonath's Vice City Side of the community, we take roleplaying seriously and It will eventually get better as SA:MP is getting a big amount of new players everyday.

Another point there, people do rely on Quizes and all that for money, why? Because they don't have time they'd rather do that than help some New Player out who's playing Doctor or Driver.  Why have the Jobs if people don't use them? Fair enough they get used but like Carharrt said people don't have patience to wait 1-5min on a Taxi or even bother to respond to Ambulance Calls, i've seen more people Pimp Ambulances than use them for they'r correct use.

I don't see why the people from VC thinks it's such a holy place... I've been there too, not much though, but it really isn't all that different from San Andreas from what I've seen, it's like fighting over who's dad is the best dad...
Only difference is that in San Andreas we have much more players, everyone wants everyone to play by their definition of roleplay... wich sometimes can lead to chaos.
Also it's kinda funny to see all of the people who post here, some are hypocrits some are not... although I'm not to judge, everyone can change.

Making this topic will most likely not change anything on San Andreas, just as previous topics about how to do what and why has not worked either... People will play the way they feel is right... And as far as I can see there is really nothing wrong with peoples roleplay on the server, some people roleplay grannies, some roleplay gangsters, some cops... etc etc.

Just because you are not a cop one day and icecream seller the other does not make you a bad roleplayer, roleplay is when you choose a character and play by that character, wether you do it short-term or long-term doesn't really matter, it's still roleplay, but then again this is just my opinion.

This is one of the reasons why I like Argonath, everyone can have their own style of playing, some plays it the way they feel is hard core, others do it their way... Some just go on the server, drive around and chat in the mainchat... I really don't see anything wrong in this although it can be a tad anoying when you're trying to have a dialogue with someone and the chat is flooded by people writing in main chat :P

I don't really have any points to prove in this post, nor do I post with any intent of anyone caring about it, or agree with it, I just want everyone to stop whining about everything and just play the way they like it...

I'd also like to end this post by saying, I did not read all posts in this topic, only the first few... I do not intend to start an argument with someone, therefor this will probably be the first and the last post I will post in this topic.

We all are here saying omai there is sooo much of a leak of RP ... We can spot most of the problems ... But ... 97% of the players of SAMP won't check this topic ever ... 70% of them should .... Because at least one thing concern them ... And we talk about this, we read this, but in two days, everyone will have forgotten this and will play careless like most of us are currently doing ...
