Look, don't be talking about everyone. You are not their voice. Honestly I wouldn't want Argonath to turn into a strict RPing server, but I wouldn't care if it did.

People like this guy are the ones who start arguments. They should be punished for their attempts for starting arguments.

I disagree. People have a right to say their opinion. In this case he just said what his opinion is, and he didn't provoke and/or flame anyone.
All he meant with the part "Look, don't be talking about everyone. You are not their voice." was that not everyone will agree on the previous statement, and he has the right to say that.
Ofcourse there are always some smart and some less smart ways to say things.

Sad that you only took part of the quote, too afraid to quote the other part? Becuase if you have even read what I said...
Just got one more thing to say, What makes Argonath RPG fun isen't just the RPG, its the mixture of everything...

- Events
- Roleplaying
- Having A Laugh
- Meeting New People
- Racing

If this was Strict RPG noone would enjoy it, because the vast amount of this comminuty from what I've seen (MTA:VC, VC:MP, SA:MP), Enjoy Roleplay along with all other things. For me, this is why Argonath is the best.

Complaning about it dosen't help, if you want to do your Strict RP do it Carhartt, but don't ruin it for everyone else who enjoys RP with loads of other things.

:)

Carhartt does do stuff, he starts roleplay groups and invites people to roleplay him, he is trying to increase roleplay in this server, I thank him and Iceboy for the good roleplay experience I had in ECPS, I gained some vital experience and memories there, thanks.

So, Mario, what are you doing? Other than going around and criticizing people.

Carhartt left Argonath times ago, so he does not do what you described... Right now it was just coming on forums and moaning...

You found paradise in Argonath. You had a good game, you made good friends. The admins protected you and there were courts of law. So you didn't need a friend like me. Now you come and say "Aragorn, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect.

Hmm! I've been browsing this thread for about a week now, popping back to it now and again - I think it's time I put something in. As far as I can see; when i'm in the server - some times you really have to work to start a roleplay, some times there are no roleplays at all. But, this isn't neccisarily a bad thing - it's a bit of a challenge and when large scale roleplays happen, they're usually worth sticking around for; patrolling through the slums of Los Santos to find an street filled with colour affilated gang members, or to log in and be urgently requested at an hostage situation.

An example of one of these worth-while situations;

I had just finished organizing an roleplay event which was an large scale highway pile up, it lead to someone roleplaying a News Reporter in an helicopter, injured motorists with miscilanious problems and Emergency Medical Teams working with the police in hope to save as many people as they could, ending with tow-trucks on scene taking the wrecks and dumping them in an allocated area. Almost straight after this, an hostage situation had been reported both by the news and on the police radio at the San Fierro rail bridge.

So I gathered a group and we headed out to see what we could do, within twenty seconds of arrival; "TRAIN!! LOOK OUT, TRAIN!!!" could be heard and through the dim fog lights could be seen approaching at high speeds, narrowly missing myself and a few others the train steamed through the police who had just arrived and the messy remains of the hostage where scattered everywhere, the kidnappers had leapt of the bridge to an waiting boat below - making an escape. Their demands or purpose was never really known...

Now THAT is something worth sticking around for, yes roleplay can get a bit dull, yes you get some absaloute idiots that can't roleplay to save their lives and don't want to either, but once in a while you get these awesome, memorable events; China Town shoot-outs with the police, barricaded suspects that require S.W.A.T to move in, and so on. But, it's not just the events that are always worth sticking around for, day-to-day roleplay can be good too. I contribute to the community by organizing the police department on the field, leading and training S.W.A.T, making role-play events such as the above mentioned, try to ask yourself... what do you do to promote roleplay?

Stick through the bad and be rewarded with the good. ArgonathRPG is what it always has been and you've just got to know how to play it. :-)

very smart comment genius  what do you expect HIM to do? He CAN'T do anything, carhartt wants to enforce some roleplay here but aragorn and gandalf have stated plenty of times that powergaming, metagaming is allowed and such.

See, some would think that farmer coming into gang hood and saying: "hey, guys, lol, want to buy sum potaToeS?" is annoying and ruining RP, however Gandalf and Aragorn think there's nothing wrong with it.

They are server owners and they make their rules, i see nothing wrong with it. Apparently MOST of players do not mind the situation as it is so uhmm yeh, nothing is gonna change anyway.

Yes, but he can't exactly doing anything right NOW. He's banned, if he wasn't, he would be ingame RPing for sure.  :)

He left Argonath, so he wouldn't be ingame RPing.

Guys, to easily settle the argument, you can't judge a server like Argo's by pinpointing it to this and that. Yes, there are rules, and yes, sometimes they are broken for both good and bad reasons. Yes, some rules are also left out for the same point. Anyway, to make this clear and simple, people will always fight over what is right and what is wrong. We're human. That's how our minds are set. Long story short, the issues will never be fully resolved. The actions we take for or against them will always upset one person versus another. We can just try and do our best to balance things out, and correct any mistakes we can in the process. Remember, fact and opinion are not the same thing in the real world, or the RP one...

well i just read this whole thread in one go.
From my point of view this looks like teenage problems(peer pressure), where guys dont wanna be called an ass-licker among their peers.
So apparently they try to contradict or oppose developers by turning an ant into an ele(read this somewhere...).

Im sure that the community has faced and overcome a lot bigger problems than a farmer who farted.
Its not worth to complain about shit when its possible to appreciate the flower that grows nearby.

There are many instances of stupid role-play by some players which are taken lightly in the humor's section.
Hard to believe that they can also cause 20 pages argument.

about developers: i think
A leader who- always wins(successful), thinks he is always right(confident), pwns who opposes him(strong) and believes in a positive atmosphere
   is better than
a leader who- Bends forth, contradicts himself by changing his views, gets pwned now and then, sees shit everywhere.

So before arguing with the dev's, please ask yourself what type of leaders you want
