Do cops get Armor for free?

How about this little fact.

In the Uk a large portion of the police force is issued with body armour due to CRIMINALS having guns and knives, both of which most the police DO NOT HAVE. want fair, try REAL LIFE !! cos in RL it is FAR from fair.
 

I must point out, we are only issued with Trauma Vest's. These cannot stop bullets really efficiently. 3 shots from a 9mm and I would be dead.

Few interesting facts : In several countries both in North America and Europe, police officers are forced to wear bulletproof vests.

If you ever tried to spend a full day with that, you know that it ain't comfortable at all. Undershirt ones are the worst, making you sweat like you had a few plastic bags on yourself.

In the USA, FBI Agents are required to wear a bulletproof vest since the 60`s or 70`s ... there was a good documentary about this not so long ago. This decision was taken because it resulted of a shootout with few wounded and few deads.

In Argonath, cops must ask you to surrender, if you decide to open fire, they have the right to fire back. What most criminals do is : I shoot you, I run away and I lol!  Then they get killed and go on for hours at : OMG he didnt asked surrender ...   True, he did not. You are right ... OMG you have an advantage wow ! Hey, be realistic. What is the next thing ? OMG cops got cars ! We want some too ..... IRL, and depending of the countries, cops are plus or less armed. Their weapons do not cost them money. But they have a duty regulated by the government. They also have the right of the LEGAL legitimate use of force. The main concept is this legal legitimate use of force. It is important to understand what it mean. It mean that law enforcement have the right to use force in order to maintain public order and stop wrongdoers.

Another fact : FBI has regularized weaponry for RS4 with some specific rules concerning different weapons and situations. Armour will be a basic issue tho, every agents, just like IRL, will be asked to wear the bulletproof vest.

One more : In RS4, it is relatively easy to escape, if you got some skills and a bit of luck, you will be out of trouble in no time.

Once more : In early script, whenever a cop was killed, he got cash. No one complained. They dont anymore ... No one really complained much ...

And again : Now, instead of bringing back that death cash, they brought weaponry to make it more even.

Yes SWAT and FBI are elite group. Actions will be more monitored in RS4, script will give us the chance to do so. Abuse will be punished.

Giveweapon was brought back even if it was totaly abused by some people and removed at some point during rs4 ... If cops wanted to moan, they would just spit out trash like : Criminals will abuse it to dm and blah blah blah ....

Point is : You gotta trust the script and the scripter. CBF have a really good idea of what is cop life IRL if I ain't wrong. He made the script following the fact that 1 player must have same chances as another. He took in consideration, with Gimli, Ron and Ronnel and Haldir, that criminals had X ammounts of ``rights`` or Y level of freedom and this made Z.  They, then, calculated X`and Y` and concluded in Z`. At this point, they tried to make Z and Z` even or as close as possible to give the opportunity to both group.

There is also, I may think, an hidden motivation behind the fact that ARPD will have more possibilities to face situations : Reduce the ammount of Cops vs Robbers situations and push players into different roles. If criminals no longer want to face police, they will hide more and become some special criminals (Elite criminals if you wish) ... Others, people only looking for a Cops vs Robbers style, will have to think twice and maybe find an alternative to their RP. This will make things a bit more real but also a bit more different and give maybe a new breath to the other jobs. We will need medics, we will need firemen, we will need pilots, we will need business people, we will have fun having barman and hotdog sellers, whores and construction workers.

In other words its not all about criminals and cops, it is argonath rpg. You can do alot of other things than just going rambo against police ... And this is why I see new script as a positive thing.

As for the classical answers : OMG but there are freecops abousing !! abouse abouse !! .... Quit it for once, there will be a copban system and abusive cops will be removed. If you ask why didnt all abusive freecops were not banned in rs3, remember that a player live on the players and that everyone is welcome. If we begin to ban everyone that do the simple mistake of any kind, it will soon be empty ...

And yes I expect the question : But Jaaskaa, u talk alot but never play any other role than Aff Bee Eye ... True, I don't, but I don't force FBI members to do like me. They can sell donuts or be just random citizens. I personnaly already have enough to do. Server administration plus FBI administration don't leave much time to play. So when I can play, I stick to my role and enjoy it. My other fun is to go party at the beach. I also tried to start Argonath University but it failed.... Now we were studying a possible stock market but .... the idea is so-so and we need to think over again. I also work as a judge and if a criminal cannot be found guilty, he will be non guilty. Yes I'm on the side of the law, because it is related to my personnality and my ideologies. If you like to play a criminal I don't hate you. My character hate your character, maybe, but as players there is not hate. If there were no criminals, then, there wouldn't be any FBI, SWAT or even police. And yes, maybe, one day I will retire of FBI, but this has not yet come.

FBI and SWAT do their own rules : FBI and SWAT do have more rules than regular police because they are elite forces. Those rules are written in comformity to the laws and rules of Argonath. Ok, there is more fire power. But we don't get all guns. Actualy, we are limited to 7 guns, 8 for SWAT. On the totality of about 15 for criminals. This is the half of it. Ok criminals need to pay, but now they can share the price. They can also use impact weapons such as mac10, tec9 and sawn off ....

Final paragraph : Rules of engagement, police rules, laws, weapons limitation, escape possibilities, possibility to purchase weapons and then only ammo and etc make the whole thing very well balanced.

Guys would you prefer it if armour was completely removed?

You should be happy with CBFASI's work with adding armour and detecting if it was hacked or not...

You should NOT be complaining BEFORE the RS4 release that things are unfair - CRIMINALS have a better chance in RS4 now due to the new changes...


What would be fair? That only criminals get armour? That only criminals and high ranking officers get armour?


As already mentioned, the police will NOT be issued it when they go on duty but MAY be issued it when they are involved in a situation involving a lot of armed suspects...which is just like in real life...

In real life the police force is equipped with whatever they need to use in a certain situation, if they didn't have that equipment then...criminals would kill them all. If you honestly think that the police using armour is unfair then consider the fact that without that armour then they stand NO CHANCE

In real life (in the UK) ALL police officers are issued with a trauma vest that provide protection against 9mm and edged weapons. This is NOT bullet proof. ONLY if we needed to enter a really bad situ are we issued the real beasts.

Also notice that the only reason that police officer has "the beast" and that machine gun is that he is obviously standing outside an important building, most likely part of the government...


Also they could be anti-terror police and would need them because terrorists have all kinds of guns and bombs and stuff

Well here in brussels belgium.. All cops are issued whit bulletproof armor and not trama vests or somthing else... My father works for the anti criminal police and every day when he comes home he got his aarmor 9 mm and his red marker tthat he puts on his arm that he shows he is an Police member...

Look at the criminal POV, we choose this life because we love to RP mafia and killers, we must pay for our weapons and we get weapons from friends as well. All weapons are reduced and Armour which is a VERY and NICE thing of CBFasi to do. Also look at it this way, cops have unlimited lifes get /equip to get weapons and armour, Many police units for backup. Cops get Hunter and Hydra, all good bases..I seen FBI HQ and it was kick ass.

Anyway, Mafia need almost same things cops get, so we should get nades too. Real mafia have access, maybe if a good script could be made to only Mafia members can get. Maybe a weapon storeage place where u can do /order grenades for $5000 and get 5. Cops can also say its ill-legal to get and also if you do that, also add Rocket Launcher to shoot down Hydras and Hunters.

"Cops" donot get /equip to get free armor, "Normal cops" have to buy armor themself with their own money
"Normal cops" can't drive Hunter or Hydra.
"Kick ass"? We r laws enforcement, we against crime, we r legal, but those gangs/mafia aren't.

And grenade, Rocket Launcher, or other War Weapons is not gonna happen and can be abuse a lot.
Criminals complaint about cops week ago, but now cops will complaint about criminals now...
