Jesus Christ that is far too hot. Are you obstructing the fan or exhaust out of the back?

My GPU has not seen above 55C yet, even playing highly demanding games.
My CPU is normally around 48C and has never been above 52C, even when playing games.

Which 'highly' demanding games are these?

I have a GTX 260 in one of my PC's, and even when I play Crysis the GPU temp. rises to about 68C - minimum despite me having a more than sufficient cooling system (4 case fans, 1 main GPU fan, 1 extra fan on GPU, smaller fan covering all of motherboard). I am guessing you play these games on a very low graphic config?

Have been setting the laptop um on something to try and get it to circulate some more, still though when I play SA:MP it goes up to 90. Computer starts - 60. Begin browsing, firefox, etc. -68-70. Leaving it on for about less than five minutes - 80-87. Playing SA:MP - 97-110.

These HIGHLY demanding games are COD4, COD5, FSX, Far Cry 2, Crysis, Mirror's Edge... I have lots more games I could test my temperature with to. ;)

Also... All max settings. :)

Something is seriously wrong with your laptop if it runs at those sort of temps. How old is it?

110...

Did you always have this problem? If not, it could be too much dust clogging the vents.

Nope it hasn't been always like this, over the past week it just makes this annoying constant szzzsszzz noise while I'm on it, as soon as it turns on. It might be the vent or something, any ideas on how to clean out the vent?

:ps: I'm pretty sure it went up to 110 once, but the highest on average is like 102-104

Get a vacuum and suck out every vent.

Dust gets trapped in the heat sink, so if you suck out the dust and other particles, it should run good.

I doubt its dust, i think its just poor laptop design which doesnt allow enough air ventelation throughout all the various components to keep it cool...  :poke:

Oh really?

Well when I had my eMachines m5310, it would get dust which would cause it to overheat then shutdown, so Id vacuum it every 2 weeks.

first of all, that was your one, his one could be in a room which has less dust then yours.. if it got blocked with dust in 2 weeks i think you should clean your room then since youre living in dust...... mine is still clean and ive had it for 3months now... still clean...
i got a eMachine E720

Alright well, yesterday and today I have began to prop my laptop up about 3-4 inches off the ground with a few wine corks () and the temperature has been staying at around 60-65C, and I'm really surprised. In a bit I'm going to try the vacuum technique, hopefully it works!
