A question about a web layout

Hi I have a question, maybe someone can help. Well I'm making web layouts with photoshop and slicing the buttons. Like needed. But the problem is, I dont know the right size for the actual website. Like, when I make it and test it. Its either too small or too big. How can i make it the actual size for the browser? Like it just looks like a JPEG but only clickable buttons.

Easiest way: find a button image like the one you make and check its size.

To resize depending on browser best work with the CSS of the layout.

Oh any for the text just use about 10pt?

How about the background size?
