Somebody carjacks you.
You report the carjacker.
Admins respond and spectate the rulebreaker.
Admins don't see any rulebreak neither proofs the report is true and the player carjacked you.

We can't really do something as we lack evidence.

Keep in mind that some punishments (freeze & warning, admin jail) are not visible to players, so it's suggested for you to keep playing normally. If you're getting directly deathmatched, report quickly for something very simple such as "dm help" and admins will try to act as quick as possible.

i didn't create the topic to get a refresh on the process of how people are dealt with.

i created this topic in the hope to increase the Effectiveness of that process..

Admins say they dont like to respond every 10 seconds, and players dont like the long wait time & percentage of people getting away with it constantly.

As one of the newest people within the admin team (There has been a lot of them added in coordance with the server becoming official and the full new scripts being added), I do not simply warn people who are new to the server and call someone a noob, I will do it (or even worse) if it is a regular doing so, because they should know a lot better than that (And I can understand those players who as regulars flame, and I do have time for them, and they will be calmed down properly). If I see a new player who says noobs, they will also be explained the server rules by myself or any other admin. Admins look at every single report made, but we do not accept those who spam the reports in order to show their maturity to the admin team. Reports in main chat will be directed to the /report id reason for a very good reason, we need to distinguish reports from other things on main chat, if someone is repeatedly reporting on main chat as a regular after being warned to report properly, then that person is either trying to be some kind of activist or provoking those who he/she claims to have been rulebreaked by. Every single report will need an admin to have seen the rulebreaking, this is probably where you think admins are idling instead of doing exactly as they should have been.


I think you are going about this completely the wrong way. There is completely no reason for admitting to needing more admins. If new moderators are needed, then server leaders will choose the best players for the chance to become admin here. I don't think you are aware of the new moderators topic by Aragorn stickied in this very section of the forums. What do you mean by going on the offensive, just because you say something doesn't make it true, I wouldn't believe you if you said you saw a flying cow fly over your house last night either. If you don't like the way the administration works here on the server, I fail to see why you still play here, keep in mind you have only recently returned from a relatively long period of inactivity. People who moan about admins being ineffective and not doing nothing are probably one of the reasons why some rulebreaks were shown to everyone, such as banning.

I simplely said that more administraotrs should be online (deffiantly during peak hours)

1) Because players want it
2) Because many admins want it
 (Dosen't that = Argonath as a whole?..)

This is a roleplay server you know? Being admin doesn't mean that you can treat the server as a deathmatch one. Infact an admin roleplaying will probably encourage new players to roleplay, as the admin will teach the player what is roleplay, explain to them how to roleplay whilst following the server rules and show them how to use different roleplaying charachters in certain scenarios. Panda is a very good admin as far as I am concerned, it doesn't matter if he roleplays or not, bear in mind that one of the server developers is a SAPD chief, and that Panda is similarly a leader of one of the oldest, most respectable groups in the servers history...

It takes about 5 seconds to type in /Warn id reason, if your investigating another rulebreaker, you dont miss anything.
So, if your reporting someone for DMing, and you get a warn for flamign, thats simply becouse we saw YOU rulebreaking, but we cant split up the display to see both players we are investigating. We are humans, not anything else. You have been one long time ago, you should know better then creating such topic.

If someone rule breaks on me  ( Ramming, dming( with fists or something so i wont die quickly), or carkilling) I try to explain them its not allowed if i have time. If they dont listen or i dont have time i /report. If i report and explain the rules and that guy keeps doing it and admins doing nothing, i simply get pissed off and start flaming that guy. And then tadadadaaam i get warned/kicked for flaming  :conf: Thats not ''nice''.

I would not flame them, admins probably could be on the person rulebreaking, and will only make you get more pissed off.

Admin work is the only reason I go on Argonath. I find roleplaying extremely slowgoing, especially with all the new "leet roleplayers" around spamming my chat screen with odds brackets. I don't even enjoy it that much anymore.
I am on admin duty a lot more than I'm roleplaying, believe me. When you see me running up and down in front of LSPD, I'm half on admin duty and half talking in main chat.

On topic, after that totally random comment :trust:, there is already a very high ratio of admins to players. At times, there can be 4 players to an admin or less. Really.
Also, let me just tell you a little piece of information, for the books.
When I am the only admin online, I do not miss a report. Not one.
