A 'gangster' in my opinion is someone that acts tough but in some occasions, is a real weakling when it comes to real-life.

For example: a gangster can be a 4ft weak retard, but he would still be talking like Hircine. Like.. "I'll fuckin' break yo' jaw, nigga'.". Although I laugh at these so called gangsters when they're locked up.

At the place I live (not sure about the rest of the UK), at school we have a thing called work experience. What we do is we literally get a job for 2 weeks instead of going to school. I'm currently doing work exp. and I'm in my 2nd week. I'm doing it with my brother-in-law who owns a criminal defence solictors firm. I go to court and watch court cases, I visit prisons, I look at all of these criminals and quite a few of them being these so-called 'gangsters'. When they enter the court room they're not so gangster. They're sweating with nerve/pressure, and most of all - they're scared. You should see some of their faces, these 'gangsters' aren't so big when they're getting locked up.

I personally think that these 'gangsters' are completly illiterate and for what they do they should pay, and pay heavily.

A 'gangster', in America, can be two separate things. It can be used to call

"some white/ black home who thinks smoking weed and baggy pants are cool".

Or it can be used to describe a certain mafia member, or a 'mobster'.

In my opinion, people use the word 'gangster' as another name for a 'hoodlum'.
