You have to pick up one name... and you can play as many characters as you want   Who told that, you cant do it... You are bored being criminal... be cop... borred to be cop... be a businesman... taxi driver... medic... and many more. Its up to you, who you wana to be... not others  

EDIT:
At begining in VC, you have just one name... but you changed charracter by skins. If you have Robber skin, you could not be cop...

These are the basic roles for the VC characters:

COP: This is the police force. They try to keep the streets free of criminals and when it is done they sit around eating donuts or give tickets for speeding. Cops are not allowed to kill other cops or innocent civilians. But if they jail or shoot a criminal they are rewarded.

CRUSADER: A crusader is a security guard, He can secure stores, or transport money from the malls to the bank. However, as in real life, he does not have the right to kill when he is attacked. If attacked he should call the cops for support.

SAILOR: A sailor is in town to look for action. They are drug smugglers and dealers, will look for whores and steal cars. After a lot of time on sea, and knowhing their ship will sail soon, they have little respect for the law. But sometimes sailors decide to stay and become shop owners as well.

MEXICAN: Having fled the poverty of Mexico, Mexicans are willing to do any job to survive in the city. They are cleaners, taxi drivers, and open small cafe's or shops. And if they can not get money the honest way, they will be criminal and deal drugs or steal money. Not all immigrants are legal. Those without greed card will hide from the police and in the mean time try to get enough money to buy their green card.

SECRET SERVICE: The name is misleading. These are the middle and high class civilians. They own stores, clubs and do all kinds of business. Not all of their business has to be legal.

ROBBERS: In stpite of their look, not all robers are criminal. They are technicians, garage owners or window cleaners. And of course they can be real robbers.

Exactly, that " name " is nothing but a username... i can be " FoxClaw " and at the same time " Joaquin_Lopez " or " Shady_James " or whatever is my role about.... that username is only a reminder, like some kind of sign to make difference between players, so its not a big deal i think players will get used to it.

I agree on all of this except for the fact of /changename in city hall being taken away, I think that should stay, but that's only my opinion.

i think it a awsome idea but i don't get how the command will work will be be like /shiftname for clanleaders only?

and can the main leader like Don give rights to the co-leader(s) ?

The current problem is with admins doing so many shiftname (permissions to use changename for free) and also admins having to search logs because you FORGOT what you changed to!

Admins role has nothing to do with your changing name!, that is YOUR problem not ours...

Why should admins spend shitloads of time FIXING a problem CAUSED by a players stupidity! when we should be as you say HELPING players and punishing rulebreakers.

Its one thing to help players with game matters but another when that player CAUSED their OWN problem.

To deal with a SINGLE /changename f**kup can take HOURS if that players is a stupid as many are when it comes to /changename.

One player did /changename for fun, and then crashed, of course could not get back in, and he didnt even choose the name, he just hit random letters!!  Want to know how pissed off I was when he tried to blame the server!

Accessing logs is only part, and since so few CAN access the logs its worse (limited access is on purposes cos ALL is text is recorded), often its DAYS after and they dont even know what day so having to search over 8MB of pure text for a name they THINK they had across multiple logs (one for each day)ti, often they get that wrong too so its worse!

It took OVER 30 minutes just to sort a password reset out due to heavy use of server (but file under 2Kb) so imagine whats is like dealing with a load of 8Mb files !!

If we could of built a idiot proof changename we could leave it but its just not possible to go and change the name in the samp launcher gui remotely...
