RS4.1 Tester Applications

I am working on new scripts for Argonath RPG which contain new features. I need testers to test these features and make sure that all bugs and other problems are reported to ensure that the scripts work properly on the main server when they are implemented

One of the big script updates in the future will be known as "RS4.1" as it is an update of RS4. In between RS4 and RS4.1 are other script updates, but RS4.1 will be a considerable update itself

The test server hosts tests for the script updates before they are implemented in the main server. The scripts on the test server will be known as RS4.1 scripts, even if there is no RS4.1 material in them yet because they are generally different from the main server scripts and should not be confused with them.

The IP address and password of the test server are classified, only testers will be told them and testers will not be allowed to pass them on to other people

I will be recruiting testers to test the new scripts in a working environment. If you are interested, please view the tester requirements, rules and then post an application form

Tester Requirements

It is likely that the chosen testers will have history on Argonath RPG as "script and bug abusers". What this means is that these people have been banned in the past for abusing scripts or exploiting bugs and I want them to test the new scripts as they are perfect at finding and reporting bugs! Do not worry, the good people may also be given a chance to be testers - it is not a strict requirement that you have been banned before


Tester Rules

All Argonath RPG rules exist on the test server

You are not allowed to give the server IP or password to someone who is NOT a tester, doing so will get you removed from the testing team and the server password changed

You MUST report ALL bugs which are found - you are not allowed to keep bugs a secret as one day they may be abused...

You must NOT leak any information about the new scripts to anyone who is not a tester

I work with a "work hard, play hard" policy. This basically means that if I join the server and find a load of people messing around, I will ask each of you what tests you have done. If you fail to show me evidence of any testing, there will be consequences. You are there to test and test you shall do...if I enter the server, ask you what you've been doing and you tell me what you have tested, what bugs you found and that you reported them, THEN you may mess around for a while

You must not spend too long on the test server, especially if you're an administrator on the main server

Although you are allowed to abuse scripts and bugs, you are not allowed to repeatedly abuse bugs which crash the server or abuse scripts which have been PROVIDED by me for testing!

Finally, you must not lie in your application form...I WILL be checking them thoroughly

uhh just a question how would i have 2 copys of samp 1 with samp .2x and 0.3?

You would have two different installations of San Andreas and have each one modded with a different version, then change the version on your SA:MP client options whenever you need to go onto either one

Why do you want to be a tester?: Well i know how to test well, ive got experience testing scripts on other servers and i want to try help out to make this new script as bug proof as humanly possible. Im also currently helping test another server on the new SAMP 0.3a Beta Client, so i am familiar with the setup of a few things on the new client.

How many times have you been banned?: twice. But one was caused by a bug(See here) and the other was cuz of a hacker (Ask MIB). So actually i have not been banned for a legitimate reason.
How many of those times were for script/bug abuse?: Never

Why do you want to be a tester?: I have spent awhile with argonath and i would like nothing better then to make Argo a better place! Argonath is the ONLY server i will and ever play on.

Just copy San Andreas to another location, install this client and it will work, just make sure you link the right client to the right copy of GTA, ive had that setup running for months now.. 1 with 0.2x and the other with the old client for a old server, now im running 0.3a on that copy and its perfect.
