Aunt Alexandra, is like the family watchdog in the story. She places herself within the Atticus house for one sole purpose, to keep order. She wants her young lings to grow up sophisticated how she sees fit. Her methods to do this include strict rules, and a powerful presence when Jem and Scout are around. She wants to remove the other womanly influence in the household, Calpurnia, because she immediately dislikes her way of teaching when she moves in. Although Atticus disagreed to remove her, Aunt Alexandra is still stubbornly prone to her own ways not liking Calpurnia in the house what so ever. Moving on to Scout, Aunt Alexandria does not see her as a proper girl, or how a girl should act so she constantly corrects Scout in everyday possible throughout the novel and is very involved in the other character's lives, wanting to know everything they are doing and would advise in every way possible.
