I used this tutorial here: http://blog.zopy.de/photoshop/leder-textur/. It is in german but if you have a bit knowledge of Photoshop you know which effects he uses to create the leather, so the language is not that important.
I'm not skilled in Illustrator either, but I also don't like the tutorial. It looks very plastic.

The Command Staff have been reviewing the badges for quite some time. It's just the matter of a few, "discrepancies".

That's quite a fetching design, but there are just a few things, if you could fix them:
-It's spelt Fierro, not Fierra
-A portion of the bottom is cut off

The main thing is the first point, but if you could fix both, that'd be better.
