Are all your parts compatible with each other?
And by that, I mean, can EVERY SINGLE component on the inside of your baby (computer) handle each other? This is just made up, but I don't think some 1998 fan is going to go good with a brand new, "high end" power supply in today's world...

A bird whispered in my ear that changing motherboard is supposed to break the current setup in Windows xp.

What I mean by that is by changing motherboard, XP may become unstable.

Not suprised if XP could break from such a thing, shitty OS.

Anyways, I will say like all other windows xp users..

Re install windows xp and cross your thumbs.

Life has been a fucking hell recently, including accepting what has happened to me in the past. Dunno if life will ever get better but at the least I'm still hanging on. Lol.

I would advise to read the previous comments on this topic before posting your own ones... :p

How did it go yesterday, Giac? Any blue screens afterwards?

Not yet...but my computer completely froze when I turned it on today, so I restarted, then it froze at another point in the startup, restarted again and it loaded fine...

Ok, it seemed as though it was the memory stick's fault..
Until I got a blue screen this morning:
nv4_disp
Implying it's my Nvidia display, aka my graphics card.

It looks like I AM going to have to format and reinstall XP. Thanks for your help guys :)

nv4_disp suggest to a fault in nv4_disp.dll, which is part of nVidia's graphics drivers. As I'm reading again from finnish sites, it seems to have been a long period problem on nVidia drivers. Have you upgraded or downgraded your drivers lately?

One guy had fixed this problem by first removing the whole drivers by using
http://www.download.fi/tietoturva/jarjestelman_puhdistus/driver_cleaner_pro.cfm

Then he downloaded latest nVidia drivers from
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

And installed nv4loopfixin
http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?s=17b18eaf99e907c504db05a33bda4915&attachmentid=2679

However, this might not work for all, but it's always better to give it a try before going for the last resort - formatting.

Alright. Download if you can a Live CD like Ubuntu or Kubuntu.

Then, run it and BACK UP ALL your data. All of it.

Then, reinstall Windows. Then, Move over and replace your files(Programs, Music, etc) with the current ones.

And then hope for the best. It could also be a faulty motherboard or USB.
