Don't judge the game by it's appearance. It may have the graphics of GTA IV, but it certainly does not have a shitty storyline like IV.

I heard that there's over 2 hours of ingame cutscenes, so I think this is gonna be a very interesting game.

I'm not some superficial douche who looks the game for leet graphics. I don't like the non-open world. Car handling is disastrous.
Weapon sounds are unrealistic, and the recoil is bad= 0. Cursor is gay,and NPCs are retarded, crossing the street totally random.

There are some pluses like movement(camera shaking), music(of course, environment destructiveness, blood, and fire. Frantic shooting, some mean car chases.

Car handling is not realistic. I never said I expect it to be numb like in SA:MP.When you hit the car, you can see a small sparkle, and nothing else. No heavy damage, no car colliding on the road or similar.
Recoil is lame.

Just having a first impression on the game after I installed the crack. The crack is still buggy and laggy, they fixed the "Freeze screen after 7th Chapter" but during the 7th chapter and onwards it has massive lagspikes at places.

The plot: Same as in other mafia-based movies, a guy from the downside goes into the Family. You start with the cutscene about your childhood and how you got from Sicily to Empire Bay. After getting a sentance, you have an offer whether to go on a war or get in jail, which Vito chose as going to War. At some point of the game this will be repeated, but won't end good.
After you come back from the war, Joe, your friend of childhood, helps you to get on your feet with getting your job. And you still have to pay your dads' debt....
The story goes good, and sometimes it looks realistic - As an outsider, you do the dirty job such as sell cigarretes, rob stores and so on. When you get into family, here's when the business starts.

The gameplay: Mechanics of driving, especially during the winter time, looks rather. Fuck the handling in GTA IV, get Mafia 2 and put the driving mode on Simulation. The handling is made as realistic as possible, this time it's a car, not a cardboard box made like a car. The car damage is meh....They could've stick to physical damage but remained on scripts, no idea why.
The shooting in the game is good, the cover system is like in all other 3rd Person shooters (Gears of War, Vegas...). The blind fire is missing, but it made game a bit more challenging. It's also canonic, since real mafioso never, and I really mean it, never fire blind.
There are some RPG elements like eating, drinking, buying clothes, guns, modding cars, we've all seen in the demo. You get in the game a lot money during the plot, and, usually, you always get enough for your missions to get guns (Wait, no, you even get guns specially for the missions, but buying additional really does helping) and fines/bribes, if cops start to annoy you.

The atmosphere: As in Mafia 2, only during missions the game is made a lot more atmospheric in those people talking around and so and so. As for freeroam between them - well, as in Mafia 2, this element dissapears.

In total: 2k Czech have been lazy a bit and overhyped with all this DLC thingie, missed some elements and made the game more script-based. The first Mafia was the very same, but it was 2002.....Well, they still made a really good predecessor to Mafia 1 and a good game in overall.

A total score of 8.5/10 from me.
