..clocking over 170db.
I'd like to see a reading of that from an SPL tester, noany iphone apps.
Have you upgraded the front end? I also see no reason to have 6X9 speakers in the back unless you're aiming for a poor soundstaged mobile disco. Apart from that, your subs and amp are cool.

Awesome shiz. BTW Shockk... please get a new car, I beg you with all my heart  ;) I don't see your Found On Roadside, Dead lasting very long and there's some cracking deals on Hyundai Coupes going on right now.
Should be getting something sensible in around 2 weeks. Either a MK1 Focus TDCI or a MK4 VW Golf TDI, facking insurance.  :hit:
I've bought my sound system way before I bought my next car on a tiny budget. I can't be bothered installing it all in my Escort when I know I'll have to rip it all out again in a few weeks. :D

- Directed Audio 600D - Got given it free by an older brother.
- Single 12" Alpine Type S DVC sub (4ohm+4ohm) - Going to be running it at 2ohms 400 rms by the DEI 600d.
- Pioneer 3400T - Cheapo amp to run front components.
- JBL P6550C components for the front.

Got some existing 12 AWG OFC wire for the speakers and a 4 AWG power cable in the Escort which I'll reuse. Hoping to buy a set of Hertz ESK 165 for the front and a single 12" Type R sub to replace the Type S in the future. If I suddenly win the lottery, I'll get a Nakamichi CD700.  :D
I'll post a pic of my banger Escort later on today.

Man, the Golf(I'm thinking 1.9 TDi here) is definitely a better bet. I've got one of those:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Galletto-1260-OBD2-ECU-Remap-Flasher-TUNING-TOOL-/220762217718?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item3366741cf6
Hook it up to your laptop or whatever you have, remap ECU and enjoy better power and fuel economy.
If you have to go for a Focus the 1.6 is made of cheese and feels like an asthmatic at least IMHO. It also suffers from FORD(Fix Or Repair Daily/F**ked On Race Day/Found On Roadside, Dead)-ness and anything above 5 years of age, which all MK1s are should be avoided like the plague. Golf also has a bigger boot and the obvious advantage of not being built out of tin cans and duct tape. Get a Golf!

Powdercoat? What colour or is it a surprise?

I am not really sure what it is called in English, to be honest. You pretty much spray small sand corn on the metal so the metal gets clean. Anyhow, I will paint it black afterwards myself. :)

If it's a frame it's worth powdercoating it in order to avoid rust if you want to keep it.

I've owned the 2.0 Focus for a week and have driven the MK5 Passat TDI 130(based on Golf). I loved the way the Ford felt in comparison, it was almost as if it was glued to the road. :D
Currently leaning towards the Focus(IG 6) as it's cheaper to insure than the equivelant Golf(IG10). I'm making my comparisons on the Golf GT TDI 110 and the Focus Zetec 1.8 TDCI so the 1.6 petrol is fairly irrelevant. As for it feeling 'asthmatic', 113 BHP and 250 Nm of torque is fine by me, not to mention the economy. Reliability isn't much of a problem as far as I know, although they do have an appetite for wheel bearings.  :hit:

First On Race Day
Fixed.

Golf has 245 litres of space whereas the Ford has 350 litres. Either way, I'm not too fussed about the boot.
Not too sure about the 'tin cans and duct tape', I'm restraining myself from starting a pugvsford outbreak.

All boils down to insurance.
