How much did you get the Crown Vic for and what was the mileage? I heard they're really good deals as they're always well maintained and quite cheap. Tidy motor that! And that Mercury is definitely a good thing to practice modding/upgrading as it looks quite simple. Nice pair you've got there Sugar
Thanks man!
The CVPI I got for around $6,000-$7,000 USD after DMV fees from a private dealer. It was a retired CHP fully-marked black and white, converted to an unmarked, civilianized unit after retirement. It had around 113,000+ miles on it when I got it. Runs like a champ. This one was kept at an office in Fresno, California as a normal desk officer's car, so all it's miles are highway travel to and from work...nothing hard. It runs amazing too. The only issue I had with it is in the transmission, which given the mileage, it needed replacing anyway. It's a mean lil mofo though. People don't screw with me when I'm driving around hahaha...
As for the Tracer, yes, it's so simple to work on I love it. It has a lot of personal value backing it because it belonged to my now-deceased grandmother who I was very close to, and when she died, my sister and mother got everything in her will and I was left nothing, so by chance I was able to get my hands on the car around 2005/2006 and have been slowly working on it since. Right now the entire interior is in pieces with all the seats and carpet out, painting the dash and plastic trim. Just replaced the carpeted area in the back window and pulled off the front bumper in preparation for a body kit in the near future. Poor car has been through so much, but it only has 61,000+ miles on it, and has a brand-new tranny too. It's a great little car...very dependable and safe, plus gets amazing mileage for something made back in the early 90's!
