..Right  That's a mate of mine from the 406 owners club forums' and it's a '98 or something like that with a 1.9 XU diesel, hell of a motor that I love it. The ride is great, you can chuck it through corners and it even oversteers sometimes when you lift off mid through a corner! Still feels quite solid. Your car must've been a Royal POS lol 

I will be honest here, I love these kind of pugs. My uncle owns one and indeed it does oversteer. What put me down is there is no need for all that bullshit body kit, it will make you a boy racer which is probably what your mate is.

Nah, he's just put effort into his car making it look as well as drive good. It's a 1.9 diesel equating to 60+ mpg ANYWHERE, it's got 120 bhp and 300+ n/M of torque due to the various intake, injection, ECU and exhaust mods. It still rides perfectly fine, has a decent stereo which doesn't take up the whole boot (Same can't be said for the strut braces back there :L ). I'd say he's a car enthusiast, not a boy racer.

It's a solution to many problems - low tax, low insurance, high MPG and LOTS of torque. You can set off in fourth without any shaking easily in an XUD this good.
