From my point of view, the point of the topic wasen't actually to make a big deal that he got 1337 posts, the reason why he posted it is to show people who do actually make these topics that its useless to do such things.Look at the sarcasm in his words...
The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.
What if he's just happy?
How do we know that all other peoples topics aren't just sarcasm? We can't really know since sarcasm can be rather tough to sense through text at times
