Who is the best footballer in the world?

Made this topic so we discuss and debate who is the best football player in the world.

At the moment I would say its Barcelona's Lionel Messi, but Manchester United's Wayne Rooney isn't too far behind him nor is Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi has scored 39 goals in 43 apperances this season while Rooney has scored 34 in 41. But one thing I would say Rooney is better at is running back and defending, this is one thing you don't see with the likes of Messi, Ronaldo and Kaka.

I think Messi will scope the World Player of the Year award this year, his 4 goals against Arsenal were amazing, but be warned, Rooney will be even more deadly next season.

Ronaldo dosen't play for United anymore nor does Henry play for Arsenal.

Messi got speed, he can just run across the field avoiding defenders....
thats what it takes...Speed and Aggression..

With team-work and a guy like that, you hardly lose.
