Very, VERY, high pitched sound coming from my computer

First off, it's a hardware error. Anyone who tells me to reformat should die in a fire.

Kk so I'd be doing anything; I'd just turn on my computer, play a game, browse the web, fap, etc, and this REALLY REALLY high pitched noise would come from my computer (NOT MY SPEAKERS OR HEADPHONES). It isn't loud, but very high pitched and annoying. I'd almost say it's nearly supersonic (I SAID NEARLY SUPERSONIC FOR ANYONE WHO'S GOING TO SAY "YOU CAN'T HEAR SUPERSONIC"). After investigating by sticking my head inside while it was on and making the noise (yeah, not smart, but I had no choice), it either appeared to come from my CPU, PSU (power supply), or hard drive itself. All I want to know is a probable cause of the noise.
It can't be overheating, because my temperatures are just fine.
All of the parts inside are completely identical, excluding the hard drive, to a previous computer I had, which never made the noise.

Any-hoo, what could be the cause?

Maybe the needle (or whatever) in your hard drive is scraping along the disc, making the sound?

Where must we go... we who wander this Wasteland in search of our better selves?

If you were just doing your normal daily processes, then I believe too it's your HDD. If the high pinch noise is continuous, take your hard drive off and start your PC again, see if the high pinch noise repeats. If it does, the problem in this case is most likely then your power supply, try to change your power supply with another one.

Alright, simple solution, that IS one of your system fans or it is the Hard drive scratching like Tommy said.

I had that problem a while back when the bearings in my Case Fan went, then it was plastic on plastic.
Just run the computer with the case open and try hear which fan the noise is coming from, its not that hard and then you will know what the problem is, hopefully its not your hard drive otherwise you will need to get a new one.

Stuck my head inside and it was still difficult to trace the sound directly... :S

Then try to shut down the fans by cutting their power, if that doesn't fix the problem, report back :)

I have a feeling he cut the cable literally and blew up the system or he put his head in the case again,
and his hair got caught in the CPU fan and it ripped his skulp off his head and he died.

There's a nuke inside your PC, watch out.

Better open up ur pc and clean the shit out of it. My bet would also go to a faulty fan/fans

Does the noise occur always, or when playing certain games?

Ever cleaned your PC from dust?

And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.

A high pitched sound that is not directly present is caused usually by one of tha fans.

There are fans in:
- Processor - this will cause temperatures to rise
- GPU - will auso cause temperatures to rise
- Power supply - will do nothing.

Probable cause : dust or wear.

Solution : first try to clean the PC. Do not use water  :devroll:

To test it take a pen and for a moment stick it in the fan. If the sound disappears for a short time, probably its wear. Live with it until it breaks, or replace.

Do not roleplay a veteran on discord, be a veteran in game.
