Try to get the shop to tell what the problem was.

Just in cae, did you checl the CPU Fan, or did you replace it recently ?
Aragorn had a similar problem last year that his PC just lagged and died after 2/3 minutes. Turned out teh cooling paste was dried up so the cooler did not work.
After replacing the cooler, everything worked as usual.

When I was discussing possible problems with Tommy over MSN, he said the temperature wasnt any higher than usual which is around 80 if im correct since his case has a heat gage on it.
It is possible its the heat paste which is basically finished but then his CPU temp would raise and he would see it on the gage.

80c while talking in MSN? That is WAY too high temperature for CPU...
It should be around 50 in desktop (maybe lower) and max 80c in full-load.. (or what's recommended)..

"The problem was the motherboard"

That could only be a hundred things :3

It could need a new MoBo battery (like a watch battery) which could be replaced for like, 2 euros.  or it could just need a CMOS reset.  Do you find any visual burn marks, or a strong burning smell when you open up your computer?

When you turn your computer on, do you hear a BIOS code? (beeps in series)

Audio Fucking Visual.

If battery is dying, it happens slowly.. Clock stops and stuff... And also it needs exactly same kind of battery if you replace it.. Wrong batter may cause "explosion" as some "experts" say..

CMOS reset doesn't help if PC just don't turn on without modificating components and/or BIOS settings..

Look at the first pic, you see one of those are swelled (from top of it) and last two are like those should be.. You can see it from top of those..

He already sent his PC in for repairs on Friday so it will more than likely have been sorted out by now.

Motherboard swapped, it works like a charm now.

Now I have a new problem. For some reason I cannot play SA or VC from my External Hard-Drive because it doesn't recognize the .exes and crashes the game.

EDIT: What the hell? The EHD jumped a letter. It used to be Drive F and now it's G?  :trust:

EDIT #2: Alright, swapped the drives, everything works but for some damn reason it won't let me play SA or VC single player, but the Multiplayer mods work  :trust:

EDIT #3: Found the problem with SA. Somehow the SAStreamMemFix stopped working along with the Custom Resolution patch... any way to fix that? When I have Custom Resolutions d9x9.dll installed, SA Single Player refuses to start and .exe crashes, but SA:MP works with the .exe and the resolution is screwed up, at 800x600 even though the .ini clearly states it is set to 1600x900.

Where must we go... we who wander this Wasteland in search of our better selves?

Try connecting the HDD to another USB port,
Try reinstalling GTA and the patches due to the others being bugged.

I am very happy to request this topic to be locked.

Solution: Motherboard fried and swapped with a new one. The issue with San Andreas was the Data Execution Prevention, so I had to make a small adjustment and fixed it.

Thanks to all who has pitched in to provide feedback and solutions to my problem. ;)
