what I meant was, they don't literally use the chemical 'Bleach'
and at least for most Americans, it isn't bleached just for looks, but more for maintenance of keeping them clean and preserving them so your Enamel can stay healthy.

Bleach is a mixture of chemicals, any chemical that removes color or whitens can be called a bleach. And most people get there teeth whitened to remove yellowness and so they look nice.
