If someone could explain all forms of "Cop Hunting", I'd greatly appreciate it.

Today, I was temp-banned for 30minutes for "Cop Hunting"
Up until now, it seems I am not quite sure what the meaning of the phrase is.

This was the scenario.

I was scouting the rooftops after a large shootout at Stracci's HQ, I had escaped unsuspected and unwounded, and resorted to the rooftops to attempt a clear shot with my rifle at a target. On the roof I saw two cops shooting down at Nick and Comrey Ancelotti, I withdraw my combat shotgun, and opened fire... in defence of my units. I did not leave much room for the police to react, killing them both rather quickly (both had rather low hitpoints.) and I grabbed my men and made my escape. Later I was told that while unsuspected, I may not protect the men in my group if they are suspected and being attacked by cops...

I did not know this, so I'm hoping someone can clear up all forms of Cop-Hunting before someone else is punished unknowingly.

Cophunting is when a civilian is attacking a cop when the cop has no part in same RP. The moment you saw the cops shooting your members, you was part of their RP. It must be a simple misunderstanding.

Gandalf himself said

If suspects are engaged in combat with a police officer and the cop decides to run the suspects have the right to chase him and kill him, only if he is not near LSPD or any other police department.

Cop Hunting however is how I understand is

When a group of nonsuspects, get into a car with intent on killing police officers, then as suspects continue to find cops to kill them.

When my members are suspected and they are under fire by ARPD, I can not help them if i am next to them? Clarification on this is the key of everything.

I had discussed it with Gandalf himself, when he came to the conclusion that even though I was helping my members, I was still cop hunting.

This makes no sense, in RP you are to help your friends, today Gvardia watched both of their allies getting killed and we could not do anything about it. We can't even help our members ? wow.

Romeo the thing is, they see "cophunting" as a suspect or non-suspect chasing and killing cops whom arent attacking the suspect for some reason,
 Which to follow the rules you must basically wait for a cop to suspect you AND attack you before you can attack them,
 otherwise it will be called "Cophunting" or "DM" due to peoples lack of knowledge on those two terms.

No idea what people in this topic tell I have said.... but I think as usual things are not understood properly and start leading their own life.

Definition of Cop hunting:
A suspect who is not near any cop finding cops and instantly shooting and trying to kill them.


When are allies and gang members allowed to help and how ?
If someone gets suspected anyone who is involved in the roleplay at the time can help out. As for helping friends who got suspected it is limited to helping them get away from the cops by offering transport.

What is allowed : A group of mafia members are together, one of them gets suspected. The whole group decides to help by shooting the cops.

What is not allowed : A mafia member gets suspected for speeding. He drives to meet his group and together they start to shoot at the cops.

What is allowed : A mafia member gets suspected for speeding, some of his allies meet him with a fast car to get away. The cops can suspect the allies for this.

As for the situation of Romeo, I can not remember investigating or talking about it.
What I see from his words is that there was a shootout, Romeo was not suspected at the time, saw some of his members in trouble and killed the cops that were shooting at them.
This is not cop hunting, but was not allowed unless the members the cops were shooting were involved in the same shootout as he was. As Romeo got away and then returned to the situation, it might have been hard to judge for admins who did not watch it from the beginning.
