Hello and welcome to Argonath's Official Weekly Writing Competition.
Each week you will get the chance to write up a story in line with the rules I set out later, and the winner will be announced every Saturday. The winner will receive a sum of money ingame and recognition in this post.

Winners:
Week 32: Georgio Ancelotti
Week 33: [ADF]Carlos_Gates
Week 34: Sarah Patterson
Week 35:
Week 37:
Week 38:
Week 39:

Week 40: Green_Thumb
Week 41:
Week 42:
Week 43:

Week 42 2010
Type of writing: A narrative.
Theme: Fantasy
Word Limits: Maximum of 3000 words. Must be at least 200 words.
When to submit: Your entry must be in by Saturday the 23rd October
Language: Unfortunately must be in English only, due to my inability to read other languages.
Other Rules: Must be submitted via email to [email protected]  with the story attached as a Microsoft Word document (.doc) or a Text Document (.txt) - attempting to spread viruses or any other malicious intentions to this email will result in heavy punishment on Argonath...
Make up a name for your poem and put it up the top
You must sign with your name at the end so I know who's is who's - I don't advise signing someone else's name, as if they win, you won't get the prize  :)
Anonymous stories will not be accepted.
Good luck!

Hints:
Here lie some general hints that you should follow to have better chances at your story winning (All apply for every week; some do not apply for POEMS.):
  • Make use of literary techniques - eg, puns, metaphors, similes, etc.
  • Leave room for some humour - don't overdo it, but a good story always has a light hearted side to it.
  • Follow a structure - Introduction, body, conclusion.
  • Use paragraphs! They make reading a LOT easier.

And I suppose I'll give you an example. Note that this isn't overly amazing as I'm writing it up really quickly...

Australia
I love Australia. I truthfully believe it's one of the freest, most prosperous and most gorgeous countries in the World.
I love the fact that we can enjoy strolls through ever lasting beaches, take a dip in the beautifully temperatured waters, walk around in amazing bushland looking for trouble and get faced with unbelievable adventures every single day.
I love that we have a strong Government, a strong police force and, most importantly, a strong individual voice in our Government at a Federal level.
I love our ability to access all the latest gadgets and toys with ease, with thousands of stores around the Country that all have an equal opportunity to make their mark in the world - to make money, to provide their services, to be there for the community.
I love that we can walk outside without fear of being attacked, raped or verbally abused, as occurs in some third world countries.
I love the fact that we have an amazing international image in which we are recognised as one of the most generous countries with Aid, disaster relief and environmental solutions.
I love that we are are provided with every facility under the sun by our Local Councils and State Governments, that we have good schools with good teachers and good curriculum's with content that children in some countries would die to learn.
I love that every single inhabitant in this country is proud of who they are, where they live and are happy to let everyone know that it is so. Our Legal system is one of the most advanced in the world, with numerous ways of finding out about laws, numerous ways of using the law to it's fullest and countless opportunities to use the legal system, which is designed to that ANYONE can use it - regardless of age, sex, disabilities or sexual orientation. We have so many ways to ensure that this country is fair that it baffles me how anyone could want to live anywhere else.

These are all the reasons I love my country and I am happy and proud to call it home.

Written by Giac Junior

That's just ~315 words, but it gets to the point, it outlines my views, it goes briefly into everything I write and it uses literary techniques. Although I didn't use humour, I recommend trying. For the benefit of some, I have changed my text colour to show you the structure.
Bolded Green = Introduction
Bolded Purple = Body
Bolded Orange = Conclusion

Get writing!

NOTE:
Stupid entries that are an attempt to be hurr durr funny will be deleted and you will be banned from this competition for every week. Do NOT post your stories here. This topic is for discussion only. Posting your story will have it deleted and you will be banned from the week's competition with the ability to write again the week after.

it seems that people aren't much interested into this.

How old is George Ancelotti?

I sell the things you need to be, I'm the smiling face of your TV. I'm the Cult of Personality. I exploit you; still you love me,
I tell you one and one makes three. I'm the Cult of Personality. Like Joseph Stalin and Gandhi, I'm the Cult of Personality. Neon lights, a Nobel Prize, when a leader speaks, that leader dies. You won't have to follow me. Only you can set you free.
